FAIRLAWN/GREEN — Choken Welling LLP works to ensure its customers are protected in a variety of litigation cases.

The five-year-old business has offices at 3020 W. Market St. in Fairlawn and 4030 Massillon Road in Green.

Attorneys Vincent Choken and David Welling handle personal injury cases involving nursing homes, car and truck accidents, bike and pedestrian accidents, head and brain injuries, slips and falls, wrongful deaths and work accidents, according to company officials.

In addition, they work on cases involving family law, patents, copyrights and trademarks, as well as commercial litigation, business disputes, tax litigation and more, according to company officials.

Welling said unlike national firms, Choken Welling works with local clients primarily in Summit and Stark counties, and they can be reached 24 hours a day to begin processing claims.

According to the company website, Welling was selected for inclusion in the 2012 Ohio Rising Stars list, which includes the top 2.5 percent of lawyers in Ohio younger than 40, and by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine, and also was recently named to The National Trial Lawyers Association: Top 40 under 40 in the state of Ohio, which is limited to the top 40 trial lawyers in Ohio younger than 40 who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results and leadership as young trial lawyers.

The website also states Welling attended Oxford University in England and studied international law, and he received his law degree from The University of Akron. He focuses on personal injury litigation, including catastrophic and death cases, and has an active commercial litigation practice focusing on business and intellectual property litigation.

Choken was named to National Trial Lawyers Association: Top 100 in Ohio for 2012-13, according to Welling. Choken has a master’s degree in taxation, as well as a law degree from The University of Akron, according to the website. He assists clients in personal injury and catastrophic cases. He is also experienced in accounting and tax law and works on all types of business ventures, from start-ups to established, as well as in the areas of estate planning, probate, entity formation and dissolutions, and also contracts.
