Trendy Specs Optique, located at 141 Ghent Road in the Merchants Square plaza, is owned by optometrist Dr. Dan Uzl and opticians Walter Paris and Deborah Graham.
The business offers eye examinations and a full-service optical dispensary where customers can select frames and have prescriptions filled. Graham added Trendy Specs is focused on providing personal service.
“We are a local business taking care of local people. We want to get rid of the type of service where a customer just feels like a number,” she said. “We want to build a personal relationship with our customers.”
That relationship includes offering comprehensive eye care to detect and correct vision problems, eye disease and even general health problems, according to the business website.
In addition, the business offers customers an opportunity to fill prescription needs right on site. A wide selection of unique frames for the entire family is available through its own dispensary.
“We offer more trendy frames so that our customers do not look like everyone else,” said Graham. “We carry frames created by smaller designers that are more unique.”
Graham also said because they are not driven by a corporate entity, Trendy Specs can provide for and cater to specific needs and tastes. She added the business uses the latest technology to create quality eyewear and contact lenses.
“We will tailor eyewear for each customer, taking into account medical needs, driving demands and conditions such as emerging cataracts and macular degeneration,” she said.
Trendy Specs accepts most vision insurances and works with customers regarding flexible spending accounts, according to Graham.
The business is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The business is closed Sundays and Mondays.
