Located at 133 College St., the business is owned by John and Susan O’Leary.
John O’Leary said the store last year became an authorized dealer of Fender guitars and now carries a full line of acoustic and electric instruments, as well as amplifiers.
“Fender is one of the oldest electric guitar companies in the United States, and they are a prominent brand in the music culture,” said O’Leary. “It is a popular and exclusive brand. The name instills confidence in its products.”
He added that Wadsworth Music has a wide selection of Fender guitars to choose from in the store, and a catalog is available for customers to order from.
“Fender has guitars in every price point, from beginner, low-budget models to customized products for professionals,” he said. “We also have a full line of guitar accessories available.”
O’Leary said the store also offers repairs and maintenance to Fender guitars, as well as modifications and customizations.
Wadsworth Music also carries other stringed instruments, including bass, violins and ukuleles; percussion instruments, such as cymbals and drum sets; wind and band instruments, such as clarinets, flutes, saxophones, trombones and trumpets; and digital pianos.
In addition, a wide variety of sheet music and accessories for many instruments are sold at Wadsworth Music.
The store also has band instruments available on a rent-to-own basis or under lease programs, and orchestral instruments such as violin, viola, cello and bass are available for lease, as are oboe, single French horn and baritone and tenor saxophones. The store offers customers the opportunity to purchase replacement and extended maintenance protection programs for rented and leased instruments at nominal monthly fees, according to company officials.
Repairs to band instruments, including repadding, corking, dent removal and restoration, are offered through Central Instrument Co., according to company officials.
Wadsworth Music also offers music lessons for most instruments, with details available on the store website, wads worthmusic.com.
“More than 20 qualified teachers are available to help students at various levels improve their abilities,” said John O’Leary.
Wadsworth Music is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
