HUDSON — iBoutique, a new consignment shop located at 5833 Darrow Road in the Orchard Plaza, opened in November.

Terri Klein owns the business with her husband, Perry Klein. Terri Klein said she has been working in retail for a long time and has been an avid consignment shopper.

“I have been looking to get into the business, and this was the perfect opportunity and area because it does not have one,” she added.

Klein said they took over an existing store and “completely renovated the place.”

iBoutique offers upscale designer fashions that are two years old or less. Klein said the “i” in the store’s name stands for the personal pronoun and is meant to encourage women to indulge a little and do something nice for themselves.

iBoutique carries casual and dressy clothing; accessories such as scarves and belts; jewelry for women; and shoes, boots and coats.

“We carry fashions for age groups from teens to older women, and we have mothers and daughters coming in together,” said Klein. “We also have a great selection of designer jeans and beautiful fashion jewelry. We try to keep things trendy and quirky in our fashions.”

Klein added the store specializes in designer handbags and wallets and carries items from Coach, Fenby, Vera Bradley and Brighton.

“Our items are gently used and in excellent condition, and a lot of them still have their original tags on them, indicating they are new,” said Klein.

iBoutique also has one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and home décor items, antiques, fine china and artwork.

“We are looking for more furniture and unique items, such as armoires,” said Klein. “We have plenty of room here to sell and display large items.”

The store also is looking to expand its selection of local artists’ work.

Currently, iBoutique is accepting spring items, with no appointments needed. No items are accepted on Saturdays, however. There is no consignment fee, and proceeds are split 50/50, according to Klein.

“We invite customers to come see what we have,” said Klein. “We offer a friendly atmosphere and fair prices for designer items.”

iBoutique store hours are Mondays to Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
