Davis, who owns and operates the Fairlawn business Paris by John Henry, creates custom tours for couples and small groups of up to 10 people.
Davis said he lived in the city beginning at age 11 for years and knows Paris “like the back of my hand.”
“I have visited the city many times since for vacations and business, from the 1950s on,” he added.
That experience gives him an intimate knowledge of one of the largest cities in Europe, he said, and he uses it to help customers explore and enjoy all Paris has to offer.
Davis explained he begins the trip planning process by meeting with clients to determine budgets, preferences and tastes. He then uses a select network of hotels, limo services, walking tour guides and excursion operators to arrange the details for customers.
“I use hotels that I have stayed in, restaurants that I have eaten in and personable walking tour guides, all of whom speak English,” he said.
Air travel arrangements are not included, but Davis said he recommends a partner agency to customers that can help with that part of the trip planning process.
“I sit down and plan the trip with clients and then make all the arrangements,” said Davis. “My services are geared for those who have never been to Paris but want to go and don’t know where to start.”
Davis said his trips can include guided walking tours of well-known monuments, museums and churches that showcase the history, art and architecture of the city; dinner reservations for restaurants and bistros to help customers savor the food of the region; and activities for a nightlife that suits their personal preferences. He also can arrange a dinner cruise on the Seine and excursions outside of Paris, and guide customers to interesting shops and markets.
Davis said he also can help customers experience the “heart and soul” of Paris through the exploration of unique neighborhoods.
Trips to Paris can be arranged for anytime of the year, including Christmas tours.
