Greater Akron Chamber to honor excellence in business
CUYAHOGA FALLS — The Greater Akron Chamber will honor the accomplishments of local businesses with the 2014 Excellence in Business Awards. This award recognizes a business that consistently demonstrates outstanding performance, growth, staying power, innovation and proven leadership in the community.
The following companies have been named as 2014 Excellence in Business Award recipients: EnviroScience Inc., Nagy’s Collision Specialists and Sequoia Financial Group.
For the second year, one business was named as the 2014 Emerging Business Award recipient — Metis Construction Services.
In addition to honoring local businesses, this year’s event will include keynote speaker Mark Krohn, equity partner at Brennan, Mann and Diamond LLC.
Premier sponsors for the event are Apple Growth Partners, Day Ketterer and Westfield Bank.
Corporate tables of eight are available for $250. The price includes table signage and recognition in the event program and PowerPoint presentation.
The awards ceremony will take place May 29 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Sheraton Suites Akron/Cuyahoga Falls, 1989 Front St.

Chamber offering trip to Italy
GREATER AKRON — The Greater Akron Chamber is offering an eight-day trip to Tuscany and the Italian Riviera Nov. 3-10.
This trip will offer unique culinary experiences, visits to the rustic countryside and an opportunity to experience the culture and history of Italy, according to chamber officials. The excursion includes round-trip airfare, visits to a Tuscan estate, a Tuscan winery, Florence, the Uffizi Gallery, Siena, Monteriggioni, Lucca, Pisa, the Italian Riviera, Cinque Terre, Portofino and more.
