Goodwill announces date for 13th Annual Employee of Distinction Award Luncheon

SOUTH AKRON — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties invites area employers to nominate their outstanding employees for its 13th Annual Employee of Distinction Award Luncheon taking place Sept. 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Guy’s Party Centre, 500 E. Waterloo Road.

At no cost, employers can nominate employees they would like to publicly recognize for their efforts.

The keynote speaker at this year’s event will be Jodi Kest, head coach of The University of Akron women’s basketball program.

“This event provides employers a cost-effective way to praise and inspire outstanding employees,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president and CEO. “As a leader in workforce development, we understand recognition is a key part in sustaining employment. That is why it is our pleasure to host the 13th Annual Employee of Distinction Awards Luncheon as a service for area employers.”

All honorees will be acknowledged at the event, listed in the commemorative program and be in the running to be named one of the top five Employees of Distinction (chosen by a panel of independent judges). In addition, all honorees will receive two free tickets to a performance at the Akron Civic Theatre.

Employers can download the nomination form at www.goodwillakron.org/EDL. Those who submit a nomination by July 15 will receive a free business-card-sized ad in the commemorative program and be entered into a drawing to win a membership to the Greater Akron Chamber (current members are not eligible).

Advertising and sponsorship opportunities are available. More information is available at www.goodwillakron.org/EDL.
