Ice House Entrepreneurship Program offered by Akron Urban League
WEST AKRON — The Akron Urban League is offering individuals interested in starting their own business or developing an entrepreneurial mindset the opportunity to participate in the Ice House Entrepreneurship Training Program.
The 10-week course includes classroom presentations, online lessons, interviews with successful entrepreneurs and business owners and one-on-one mentoring from the Akron Urban League’s Minority Entrepreneur Empowerment Center staff.
After completion of the course, aspiring entrepreneurs will learn to analyze and understand the mindset of successful entrepreneurs, recognize and seek opportunities, design shoestring strategies for putting ideas into action and broaden networks and connections, according to Akron Urban League officials.
The Akron Urban League is accepting registrations for the upcoming Ice House Entrepreneurship Program, which will begin July 21. This 10-week session will meet every Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Akron Urban League, located at 440 Vernon Odom Blvd. The cost is $150. For interested participants who reside within Summit County but outside of the Akron, Barberton and Cuyahoga Falls areas and who are below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines, there is no cost to participate in the course.
