NORTON — Perfect Power Wash is a 14-year-old business owned by Michael Palubiak and located at 3443 Summit Road.

The business power washes siding, brick, wood and other surfaces on homes and businesses, as well as roofs, gutters, decks and concrete driveways and walkways.

Palubiak said fall is the perfect time to focus on the concrete surfaces of a home or a business.

“Power washing and sealing concrete before winter sets is important to help protect these surfaces,” he said. “Winter can wreak havoc on concrete, with the freezing and thawing, and if it is not properly sealed, this can cause cracking and chipping. Power washing and sealing it will not only protect it, but also help keep these surfaces looking good.”

Palubiak said this service includes cleaning the concrete with a solution that removes surface dirt and living organisms. A premium grade sealer is then applied to protect it. Palubiak said this sealer is absorbed into the concrete, and it “penetrates and plugs the concrete.”

“It does not change the appearance of the concrete, and it does not make the surface slick or shiny or discolored,” he added.

Palubiak suggested that washing and sealing concrete surfaces be done every two years.

Customers do not have to be home when this work is done, and surfaces that have been cleaned and sealed are useable the next day, according to Palubiak.

In addition to concrete surfaces, Perfect Power Wash cleans asphalt roofs.

Palubiak said an airborne alga that creates black streaks on surfaces can grow on these roofs.

“It looks bad and deteriorates the shingles prematurely,” he added. “Removing this algae helps to maintain the roof.”

The business also removes this black dirt from gutters and siding. Palubiak said it is important to remove these marks before they become permanent stains. He added the company uses low-pressure washes to protect surfaces where appropriate.

“Your home is a large investment,” he said. “You wash your car to maintain its value, and it makes sense to maintain the home’s surfaces, its value and its curb appeal.”

Palubiak said Perfect Power Wash uses biodegradable cleansers that safely remove contaminants and do not harm landscaping. The cleaning process is certified by Power Washers of North America, he added.

Palubiak noted the company uses satellite imagery to take measurements of an area to be power washed and can offer a quote on the cost of power washing surfaces to customers over the phone.
