FAIRLAWN — Cutler Real Estate has been a leader in its field since 1947 and now has 10 offices in six Northeast Ohio counties, including three in Summit and one in Medina. 

There are more than 300 Realtors® in the company, with 36 in Fairlawn, according to company officials.

The Fairlawn office opened in 1995, following a merger with long-established Marting Realty, according to co-owner Jim Bray.

Bray, Jim Camp and Jay Cutler are the company’s three owners, carrying on the tradition of superior service.

Bray said they are ranked No. 5 in Ohio of all real estate companies, and according to Real Trends report, are 74th in the country.

“We have always been one, two or three in our marketplace,” he added.

Cutler Real Estate was started in Canton by Al Cutler, and neighbor Bray joined him in 1966, following a backyard conversation.

Camp and Jay Cutler came on in the 1980s, he said.

“I could probably introduce you to everyone in the company and tell you half of their spouses’ names,” said Bray, and the other owners are no different, he added.

In fact, every Realtor in the company has each of the owners’ cell phone numbers, he added.

Karyn Pumphrey, who was recently hired as the business manager for the Fairlawn office, said familiarity is one of the things that attracted her to the company.

“A lot of Realtors have been here 20-plus years,” she said.

“We’ve always been that way,” said Bray, adding that he made a promise to Al Cutler in 1985, before he died, to treat everyone in the company as family.

“It’s just important that we stay that way,” he said.

Cutler Real Estate specializes in all areas of real estate, including residential, lots and land, multi-family homes and commercial properties. They also list “premier” homes, residences that are offered at $350,000 and above.

Pumphrey said she sees a tremendous opportunity for homebuyers today.

Interest rates are less now than when he joined the company, Bray added.

Cutler also provides a full range of property insurance services, title insurance, relocation services, mortgage financing, auctions, commercial investment and business brokerage through its affiliates and partners.

Cutler has always been a technology leader, said Bray, debuting its first Web site in 1997.

Just last week, the company released Cutler Mobile Web, an adaptation of the company’s Web site, for use on Web-enabled phones, he said. 

Cutler Mobile MLS is another example, he said, allowing potential homebuyers to access information on listings by using the home’s MLS number or street address by calling (800) 465-4556.
