WEST AKRON — Body Beautiful, an eight-year-old aesthetic medicine facility, designs personal treatment programs to keep both your skin and body looking beautiful.

The company, which is part of Northeast Ohio Medical Specialists, is owned and operated by Drs. Colin and Kelly Moorhead, and offers affordable cosmetic treatments for men and women using state-of-the-art medical technology.

All treatments are reviewed and overseen by the Moorheads.

“We look to maximize our patients’ satisfaction in their treatments,” said Colin Moorhead. “The relationship with our medical practice works to direct patients to the proper consultants to minimize time spent on the wrong treatment. We have lots of experience in our techniques and procedures, a [registered nurse] on staff to perform the procedures, and Dr. Richard Gentile, a plastic surgeon, is in the office twice a month for referral and consulting and to do other in-house procedures.”

The aesthetic medicine center services include clinical skin care treatments such as microdermabrasion, PhotoRejuvenation, Botox, laser vein therapy, hair removal, VelaSmooth and massage therapy.

According to company officials, microdermabrasion can help minimize acne scarring, sun-damaged skin, age spots, freckles, stretch marks, fine lines and rough skin, and improves skin texture, evens skin color, reduces breakouts and makes skin appear younger.

PhotoRejunvenation uses intense pulsed light treatments to improve the appearance of rosacea, sun damaged skin, age spots and skin texture, as well as mild acne scars, dark circles around the eyes and fine lines, according to company officials.

VelaSmooth is a cellulite reduction treatment using bi-polar radio frequency and light energies, and gentle suction and massage action to produce a smoother skin surface on the thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen and upper arms.

In addition, two licensed massage therapists are available at Body Beautiful to provide onsite services for general relaxation, neuromuscular therapy and trigger point therapy to reduce stress, increase movement and reduce pain throughout the body.

Both Colin and Kelly Moorhead graduated from Wright State University College of Medicine, completed a residency in the Internal Medicine program at Akron General Medical Center, and then partnered to open their own practice in 2001.
