The full-service business offers a complete scope of preventive and corrective eye care and a full line of optical shops for one-stop convenience.
“Board certified ophthalmologists, optometrists and support staff are dedicated to protect, preserve and enhance the eyesight of patients with expertise and state-of-the art equipment,” said Clinical Administrator Mary Placke.
The staff includes: Jeff Starkey, M.D.; Marvin Leedy, M.D.; Chris Calaway, O.D.; Mary Lack, O.D.; Philip Kades, O.D.; and Larry Barger, O.D.
Placke explained ophthalmologists are certified to not only examine eyes for glasses and contact lenses, but also to treat and manage ocular diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. They also can treat eye infections and injuries.
Services also include the latest technological advancements in laser vision correction, with Starkey providing Lasik surgery in his surgery suite at One Park West in West Akron.
Starkey is a highly trained Lasik surgeon, said Placke, and he evaluates patients to determine suitability for the procedure and explains the risks and benefits during a pre-operative examination.
Placke added Starkey uses one of the most advanced cataract removal techniques — called phacoemulsification — along with the latest options in intraocular lens implants.
NEOVision optometrists co-manage cataract or refractive surgery with experienced opticians who are available to talk to patients about the latest in frames and lenses, taking into consideration lifestyle requirements, said Placke.
“The top priority of any eyewear is to provide good eyesight, but opticians at NEOVision can help patients find the lightest weight corrective lenses for their comfort, and opticians can explain the types of lenses and coatings that will benefit their patients,” explained Placke.
NEOVision has a large selection of quality and designer frames and sunglasses in all price ranges available, including iZon Lenses, which can improve patients’ vision, according to the company.
NEOVision customers also can be assessed for contacts and learn about the type of contacts that would best serve their needs.
NEOVision offers extended evening and Saturday hours. To schedule an appointment at either location, call (330) 753-7523.
