GREEN — CFBank opened a new mortgage loan office at 1606 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road.

Loan officers Debbie Ball and Dan Paridon will be available to assist customers with purchase and refinancing lending.

Ball joined the bank after having served the Akron area as a Realtor® for 25 years in a family-owned agency. According to CFBank officials, that experience will give her a unique perspective on mortgages and lending.

Paridon has a 15-year history as a mortgage loan originator and has been with CFBank for two years, according to bank officials. He specializes in loans through the Federal Housing Authority and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

CFBank has a reputation for serving the lending needs of real estate professionals, builders and individual homebuyers throughout Ohio, according to bank officials.

“At CFBank, we are all about people and the highest level of service we can provide,” said Corey Caster, company vice president and director of the bank’s Mortgage Division. “Our approach is to help people build their mortgage with the right program to fit their needs, from start to finish.”

To reach Paridon, call 330-576-1915; to contact to Ball, call 330-576-1190.

GO program offers new initiatives this year

DOWNTOWN AKRON — Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) is preparing for another summer in downtown with its GO: Get out of the Office initiative.

Many mid-day events from last year will be back and new activities have been planned. GO is a program dedicated to getting downtown employees out of their offices and into the downtown area, utilizing the businesses and amenities available.

GO events include activities such as walking tours, fitness days, outdoor recreation, book clubs, concerts and behind-the-scenes looks at new community projects. Popular GO events include:

• Throughout the summer, tours are given of popular and interesting downtown sites such as the Akron Civic Theatre and other historical locations.

• A Lunch Hour Concert Series takes place every Wednesday featuring local talent and promoting community and relaxation. Check www.downtownakron.com/summerconcerts for locations.

• Every Friday, beginning July 16, Lock 3 Park hosts a farmers market full of art and locally grown produce. Visit www.downtownakron.com/market for a list of vendors.

• Recess at Lock 3 offers the chance to play Frisbee or cornhole, fly a kite or join a bocce league all for free.

DAP also has put together a list of new events, including free tai chi and yoga lessons starting in June at Lock 3 Park. The Akron Art Museum will host “Knit and Nosh” on the third Thursday of the month, when downtown employees can bring their yarn and needles and grab a bite to eat while chatting with fellow knitting enthusiasts.

The Photography Club is another new group for downtown employees with a passion for photography. Every second and fourth Thursday of the month, photography enthusiasts will meet to share new skills and participate in interactive photography activities. The Downtown Restaurant Club will meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month to visit downtown restaurants. Members of the club will discuss meals and then have the option to write reviews of the food, service and atmosphere for the GO blog.
