Resanovich said he began working for Green Fire in 1983, and in 1996 he was promoted to captain and became a shift commander. He said he has served as the EMS coordinator at Aultman Hospital; is an Ohio Department of Public Safety Emergency Medical Services Board member; has been a member of the State Board of Emergency Medical Services since 1997 and served as its board chairman in 2003-04; currently chairs the Homeland Security Committee; and served with the Tactical EMS work group.
Resanovich said he will “miss the people” he has worked with.
“It was exciting to be part of the growth of the department in the transition from township to village to city,” said Resanovich. “It has all been memorable, and I enjoyed working with the some of the best people in fire and EMS.”
On April 19, city officials, including Green Mayor Dick Norton and Fire Chief Bob Calderone, as well as Resanovich’s fellow employees, gathered to recognize his service to the city with a luncheon and several proclamations.
Resanovich said he plans to spend more time with his family in retirement.
