SPRINGFIELD — The home of Helen Stollings in Springfield got some TLC May 5 when a crew of volunteers for Rebuilding Together Greater Cuyahoga Valley descended on it for a day of work. The volunteers, who are pictured at right bottom with Stollings, are employed with Summit County.

Shown at left are Grace Miller and Craig Berentz as they plant new flowers at the home.

Patrick Bravo and Holly Miller cleared yard debris, as shown at right top, while Dennis Tubbs cleared a roadside drain, shown at right middle.

Rebuilding Together officials said more than 400 volunteers worked throughout the Akron area on the 17th annual Rebuilding Day April 27 to address the needs of low-income elderly and disabled residents. The Springfield project was moved to May 5 due to bad weather, officials said. For more information on the organization or to refer a residence in need of help, call 330-773-4100 or go to www.rebuildingtogether-sc.org.
