DOWNTOWN AKRON — From the suspenseful antics of a daredevil to the anticipation of watching a water race, attendees at Canal Day enjoyed thrilling fun at Cascade Locks Park June 30.

The annual fundraiser allowed attendees to purchase ducks that were then floated down the Ohio & Erie Canal in races to the finish for prizes. Catherine Greer, 10, of Akron, is pictured at right bottom as she chooses a duck for one of the races planned that day.
