Sadie and Noah Zelin, of Akron, also marched and carried stuffed Torah scrolls, as pictured at right bottom.
Marchers were accompanied by a klezmer band as well.
Following the procession, Rabbi Stephen Grundfast placed the Torahs in the holy ark, which is shown at left top.
Pictured at left bottom is the Shaw JCC’s sign, which carried a message of welcome that day for the congregation.
The Jewish congregation moved after selling its property earlier this year to Summit Academy, which will move its charter high school to the location. Beth El had been at the site since 1951. The congregation will use a conference room at the Shaw JCC for services and plans to fund an addition to the space in the near future.
