Festival celebrates Buckeye State creations
By Kathleen Folkerth
BATH — The best in food and crafts from Ohio-based vendors was featured at Hale Farm and Village Sept. 1 at the Made in Ohio Craft Festival. Tented booths were set up throughout the grounds, as shown above, allowing shoppers to also enjoy the atmosphere at the historic site.
Bath resident J. Clayton Fant, who is shown below at his booth of wooden kitchen tools, said the fair was his first ever, even though he’s been making his products for 10 years.

Dean Johnson, of Peninsula, is pictured at right with some of the creations he makes out of recycled wood.
Those who attended also had the chance to enjoy some of Hale Farm’s demonstrations. Shown at bottom is Sebastian Shepherd, a third-year Kent State University student majoring in glass, as he gives a demonstration in glass blowing.
The next special event planned at Hale Farm is the Harvest Festival, which will take place Oct. 13. For more information, go to www.wrhs.org or call 330-666-3711.
