Another Green resident serving in Afghanistan

AFGHANISTAN — Green resident and former Green City Councilman Col. Joseph Sheehan, who is serving a one-year tour of duty in Afghanistan as a mobilized reservist, is pictured at right in photo at right, shaking hands with Gen. Joseph Dunford, assistant commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Dunford was recently designated as Gen. John Allen’s successor as commander of U.S. Forces in Afghanistan. The photo was taken Oct. 17.
