DOWNTOWN AKRON — Tuba Christmas brought seasonal songs to E.J. Thomas Hall for the 33rd year Dec. 22. The hall’s stage was filled to capacity with tuba players, as shown at right top.
Roger Ramsthaler, of Norton, who is pictured at left, was among the several hundreds of musicians to participate this year.

Also getting in the spirit were players Duncan Tedquist and Cooper Tedquist, residents of Silver Lake, who are shown at right bottom.
Conductor Tucker Jolly, a University of Akron music professor, once again organized and led the low brass orchestra for two free shows. The concert is one of more than 200 that take place during the Christmas season worldwide to mark the birth of tuba teacher William Bell, who was born on Christmas Day in 1902.
