Snowy day sets stage for Chili Open
By Kathleen Folkerth
BATH — Amidst the snow-covered fields at Hale Farm and Village Feb. 2, some local golfers had the chance to hit the links for a good cause at the Wayne Homes Chili Open. The event is a fundraiser for the Akron Rotary Camp for Children With Special Needs, located in New Franklin.
During the event, the Hale Farm grounds were transformed into seven golf courses with nine holes each, with hole distances ranging from 65 to 125 yards. Golfers were challenged to drive shots across the frozen fields and putt balls laden with ice.
