COPLEY — Students and school district officials welcomed special guests and visitors to the Nature Zone at Arrowhead Primary School April 22. The Earth Day evening event featured tours of the school’s Nature Zone, which consists of a wetland, greenhouse, garden for each class, chicken coop and more.

Arrowhead fourth-grade student Riley Meeker, who is shown at right, was among the participants who helped explain what takes place in the greenhouse, where students visit twice a month for projects.

Classmates Samuel Harter and Jasmine Walker helped lead another group around the site with Paula Mularcik, an Arrowhead Nature Zone volunteer, as shown at top.

Those who attended also heard the music of local musician Zach and enjoyed food from restaurant dba (Dante Boccuzzi Akron). Pictured at bottom is dba employee Tiffany Scheiner, of Green, as she serves Margie Townsell, of Clinton, a member of the Twinbrooks Garden Club of Norton, as Dante Boccuzzi looks on.

Also in attendance at the Copley-Fairlawn City Schools event was Ohio Sen. Frank LaRose (R-District 27) and Ohio Department of Agriculture Director David Daniels.
