GREATER AKRON — Twelve area high school students were recognized for scholastic and community involvement at the annual Youth Appreciation Day breakfast Nov. 19 sponsored by the Breakfast Optimist Club of Cuyahoga Falls. Now in it’s 30th year, the Optimist Youth Appreciation program spotlights outstanding teens whose names will be added to plaques displayed at their schools.

During the program, held at Silver Lake Country Club, Cuyahoga Falls Police Chief Tom Pozza also presented individual plaques to each student.

The students, shown above, from left, include: (front row) Emily Kasper and Julie Brazis, from Woodridge High School; Mary Craighead and Alison Dee, from Walsh Jesuit High School; Kristin Kapity and Nicholas Romanoski, from Cuyahoga Falls High School; (back row) Danielle Herman and Alison Herman, from Stow-Munroe Falls High School; Paul Gibson and Molly King, from Cuyahoga Falls Christian Academy; and Elizabeth Nichols and Jacob Armbrecht, from Streetsboro High School.
