GREEN — The Green High School chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed seniors for a fiesta April 5 at the 13th annual Senior Citizen Social, which took place at Green High School.

The social was the group’s annual community service project and offered a taco bar dinner, music, dancing and games for senior citizens living in Green. Among the seniors attending the event was Ellen Torok, 88, who is shown at top right, at left, chatting with Green Local Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Miller. Torok is the wife of deceased former Green mayor John Torok, who was the city’s first mayor, from 1992 to 1997.

Shown above are Hugh and Faye Shahan dancing to the sounds of the band Out of Sequence, which performed oldies music.

Shown middle right is Walt Burger also taking a turn on the dance floor with his niece, Maria Pappano.

Games at the free event were enjoyed by all, including Joann Rossiter, shown at bottom right in photo at right, and Faye Alderson.
