FAIRLAWN — Five St. Hilary School students competed and received awards in the State Science Fair May 5, according to school officials.

Melissa Chi and Michaela Giltner received a rating of “Superior” and qualified for two sponsored awards; Katrina Heil, Caitlin O’Rourke and Michael Smith received a rating of “Excellent.”

These students began by successfully competing in their school’s Science Fair in January and advanced to the Walsh Jesuit High School Science Fair in February, where they qualified to participate in the Western Reserve District Science Fair at The University of Akron in March. Their performances at that event led them to the State Science Fair, according to St. Hilary School officials.
