Elms celebrates National Blue Ribbon Award

WEST AKRON — On Dec. 10, Bishop Richard Lennon, of the Diocese of Cleveland, celebrated Mass with Our Lady of the Elms School in honor of the National Blue Ribbon Award earned by Elms Elementary School recently. All students from Our Lady of the Elms, as well as faculty, staff, parents and the Dominican Sisters of Peace gathered for the Mass in the Ann Amer Brennan Theater.

Pictured above, from left, are special guests attending the Mass: Sr. Maria Ciriello, O.P., Dominican Sisters of Peace Founded Ministries Board director; Sr. Therese Leckart. O.P., Dominican Sisters of Peace Leadership councilor; Lennon; Sr. Margaret Ormond, Dominican Sisters of Peace prioress; Margaret Lyons, Cleveland Diocese Superintendent of Schools; and Elms Elementary School Principal Marie Reichart. Also attending the Mass and not pictured was Michelle Kroll, assistant superintendent for the Diocese of Cleveland.

“As a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms School, I’ve never been more proud to say I’m an Elms girl,” Reichart said at the Mass.
