WEST AKRON — Students at Crouse Community Learning Center got to celebrate Christmas a little early as members of the Akron Fire Department delivered new coats for them Dec. 19.

Angela Brooks, principal of the school located on Diagonal Road, is shown above as she thanks the firefighters for the donation before distribution.

Dominica Pierce, a member of Station No. 6, is shown at right bottom as she helps kindergartener Sekai Cherry try on a new coat.

A group of students is pictured at right top in their new attire as they wait in line to tour fire trucks outside the school, one of the other perks of the Coats for Kids event. Shown from left are Jamir Jenkins, Di’Mya Grant, Dakaeri Gibson, Zyionne Gervins and Christopher Franklin.

Shown at right middle is second-grade teacher Mathew Erlich as he talks to a student about fire gear.
