WEST AKRON — Rockynol is planning its 2011 Wreath Festival, an event that supports two charitable organizations.

The third annual event will take place Nov. 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Rockynol, 1150 W. Market St.

Kelly Price, Rockynol’s director of sales, said the event will feature nearly 100 decorated wreaths for Christmas as well as all seasons that have been donated by local florists, decorators and businesses, as well as Rockynol staff and residents.

“We have wreaths from some of our residents from every area, from independent living and assisted living and skilled nursing,” Price said.

Organizers price the wreaths, which will be offered for sale at prices ranging from $15 to more than $100. Cash, check and credit cards will be accepted at the festival.

A few of the wreaths will feature live greenery, Price said.

All proceeds from the Wreath Festival will be split between the Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Chapter and Haven of Rest, Price said.

She added the event was begun two years ago when Rockynol officials were looking for a way to engage and support the Akron community.

“We tried to think of a way we could give back,” she said.

Those attending the festival are asked to use the main entrance. The wreaths will be displayed in the pedestrian bridge.
