Fort Island students display talent

FAIRLAWN — Eleven Fort Island Primary School students’ Reflections Art Show artwork was sent to the Ohio PTA Reflections level of competition after being judged by the Copley-Fairlawn PTA Council to be considered one of the Copley-Fairlawn City School District’s 24 best. These winners included Alexa Tyree, Carmen Rowe, Alexa Strandberg and Alex Creekmore in the visual arts category; Ashley Borrell and Alex Borrell in the photography category; and Kayleigh Cremers, Devin Frase, Jordan Ziss, Lydia Boyce and Alexa Tyree in the literature category.

Shown at right are students who participated at the state level from Fort Island.

The district had four winners at this level, with three from Fort Island. The winners included:

• Literature: Cremers, Award of Achievement, second place; and Boyce, Award of Merit, third place; and

• Visual arts: Creekmore, Award of Achievement, second place.
