By Maria Lindsay
SPRINGFIELD — Area residents swayed to the Caribbean, reggae and Motown sounds of Rudy & The Professionals at the launch of Springfield’s Summer Concert series June 8.
Shown at right bottom is a crowd of music lovers sitting in lawn chairs listening to the concert, which took place at the Vincent J. Mealy Memorial Gazebo. Attendees are invited to bring a picnic to concerts in the series while they enjoy the music.

The picturesque setting of the lake nearby offered a breezy start to the Friday night summer concert series. Pictured at right middle from left is former Lakemore Village Council member Pat Fiocca applauding while Bernadette Fiocca, of Ithaca, N.Y., dances to the music.
Shown at left is 3-year-old Green resident Linden Falkner, enjoying the music as well.
Rudy, of Rudy and The Professionals, is shown at right top as he sings to Cuyahoga Falls resident Helen Castner, 84, during the concert.
The next concert will take place tonight, June 15, at 7 p.m., with the Colin Dussault Blues Project.
