NEW FRANKLIN — The 37th annual Portage Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show was held at the docks of the Harbor Inn and Hook, Line and Drinkers restaurants June 30.
The event this year featured a number of rare Chris Craft Custom Runabouts, along with about 50 restored wooden and classic fiberglass boats and canoes and sailboats. Pictured at left top is an overview of some of the boats on display at the event.

Shown at right top, from left, is New Franklin resident Darryl Feildman as he points out features on boats to his grandson Jack Ganjon, 11, and son-in-law Rob Ganjon.
Green resident Jerry Welch is pictured at right bottom anchoring his 1967 Circraft, which he said is from England.
Julie Maringer is shown at left bottom polishing a 1948 Chris Craft Custom owned by New Franklin resident Gill Maringer.
The show was hosted by the North Coast Ohio Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society and the Portage Lakes Historical Society. Organizers said it’s one of the oldest shows in the country.
