WEST AKRON — The Akron Arts Expo brought four days of activities to Hardesty Park July 26-29, including two days of displays of artistic creations by local and national artists. Copley artist Pamela Price is shown at left, at right, along with her mother, Donna Letizia, of Macedonia, as they assist customers at Price’s custom-made jewelry booth. They were among the 160 artists on hand for the event.

Shoppers are pictured at right bottom checking out the variety, which included photography, sculpture, paintings and garden art.

Among the booths at the event was the Akron Art Museum, which was on hand to collect items for a community art project in the vein of El Anatsui, whose work is currently on display at the museum. Shown at top right, from left, are museum staff members Carolyn Lindsay, Maria Iafelice, Katie Beck and Beth Govern.

A couple of neighborhood children took advantage of the weekend’s foot traffic by hosting their own sale. Bayler and Emerson Alden are shown at right middle at their street booth, at which they sold Emerson’s lemonade and Bayler’s duct tape artwork. Bayler will be a fifth-grader at Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts this fall, while Emerson will enter first grade at King Elementary School.

The four-day event also featured the food sampling event Taste of Akron and performances by Neos Dance Theatre and the Akron Symphony Orchestra.
