Record crowd attends art-A-palooza
By Maria Lindsay
GREEN — Despite the heat last weekend, children and adults were drawn to the entertainment and arts and crafts offered at art-A-palooza Aug. 25. The annual art festival is presented by the Green Arts Council and the city of Green at Boettler Park and drew a record crowd, according to Kim Goodhart, Green Parks and Recreation special events and programs coordinator.
More than 60 artists set up their tents around the park’s pond, shown right middle, which provided a picturesque setting for the event.

Art-A-palooza also offered many children’s activities. One of those included a public art wall that invited visitors to make their mark. Pictured at right bottom is 4-year-old Plain Township resident Divya Shanadi coloring figures on the wall.
Green resident Kathy Moretz also attended the event and is shown at left top inspecting some butterflies.
Other artwork on display at art-A-palooza included glass work created by Akron artist Maria Riedel, shown at left bottom.
