BOSTON — The 33rd Annual Jim Klett Memorial Races, set for June 15, offer a 1-mile Kids Race and a 10K Race for adults. Proceeds from the races will help purchase backpacks and other school supplies for children served by Summit County Children Services. The races will take place at the Howe Meadow site of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) on Riverview Road. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. The 10K will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the Kids Race at 10:30 a.m. The 10K certified course is a loop course, scenic and mostly flat, winding through the CVNP. The Kids Race is on grass. All preregistered runners will receive a specially designed T-shirt. Goodie bags will be given to the first 200 runners to check in on race day. In addition to the shirts, the top three male and female finishers overall and in 13 age categories will receive awards. Ribbons will be awarded to all finishers in the Kids Race. A post-race breakfast will be available. Registration for the Jim Klett 10K is $35 on race day. Registration is free for the Kids Race. United Way

CLEVELAND — The United Way of Greater Cleveland and United Way of Summit County will partner to host the third annual RideUNITED bicycle tour June 23. About 700 cyclists are expected to travel the Towpath Trail or city streets from Cleveland to Akron completing their choice of 12-, 25-, 40-, 80- or 100-mile routes. The tour is expected to raise up to $80,000 and will benefit the United Way of Greater Cleveland and United Way of Summit County. The tour begins at Cleveland State University with a pulsed start at 7:30 a.m. All routes are round trip, except the 40-mile, which ends at The University of Akron. UPS has volunteered to return the bikes of the 40-mile riders to the start, and cyclists will be transported via bus. Rest stops will be available. Registration rates are: individual — $15 with $50 minimum fundraising; student — $15 (12 and older) with $20 fundraising; and family — $50 with $100 minimum fundraising.
