WEST AKRON — Residents in the Braewick Drive neighborhood gathered as they have every July 4 for 45 years for the annual July 4 parade. The morning event featured an Akron Fire Department truck, the Firestone High School drum line and color guard and about 100 neighborhood participants on bikes and with strollers and pets.

Shown above are participants as they line up before the parade.

Charged with carrying the parade banner this year were Wyatt Scott and Joseph Sweeney, who are pictured at right, from left.

Following the parade, residents gathered at the corner of Braewick Drive and Winston Road for the Pledge of Allegiance and national anthem.
