Hattie Larlham/Courage for Carina Gift Card Fund
TWINSBURG/AKRON — Hattie Larlham, a Northeast Ohio nonprofit organization that serves children and adults with developmental disabilities, is joining charities across the country Dec. 3 to participate in Giving Tuesday. Held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, this new national day of giving unifies charities, corporations and people to kick off the annual holiday season by raising funds and awareness for important causes nationwide, according to agency officials. Hattie Larlham, an official registered partner of Giving Tuesday, is encouraging people to support children and adults with developmental disabilities on Giving Tuesday by visiting www.hattielarlham.org and making a donation. In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, a Hattie Larlham donor has agreed to match Dec. 3 online donations up to a maximum of $15,000. More information is available online at www.hattielarlham.org.
In addition, Akron Children’s Hospital also will participate in Giving Tuesday Dec. 3. All funds raised on Giving Tuesday will benefit the Courage for Carina Gift Card Fund, which provides funds to purchase gift cards for use by patients and families receiving care from the Haslinger Family Center for Pediatric Palliative Care at Akron Children’s Hospital. To donate online, visit www.akronchildrens.org/givingtuesday and choose the GivingTuesday option for the gift to benefit Courage for Carina.
