AKRON — Akron artist Don Drumm has created a pewter holiday ornament using the word “Blessing,” exclusively for Blessings in a Backpack-Akron. The ornaments are packaged in the Don Drumm Studio giftwrap. Blessings in a Backpack-Akron feeds elementary school children who do not have enough food to eat on the weekends. For as little as $80, Blessings in a Backpack can provide a child with food for a 38-week school year, according to organization officials. Now in its third year, the Akron Chapter is supporting 800 children at Helen Arnold, McEbright, Schumacher and Crouse community learning centers. The profits from the ornament sale and 100 percent of donations go to purchasing food for the children. The ornaments sell for $25 each. To purchase one, contact Blessings in a Backpack-Akron at bless ingsakron@gmail.com or visit www.blessingsakron.org.
