Summit County Children Services

SOUTH AKRON — Summit County Children Services (SCCS) hopes to provide filled Easter baskets or small stuffed animals to more than 1,500 children in its care this year, as well as grocery gift cards to its neediest families. These holiday items cannot be funded by its general operating funds, according to SCCS officials, and the agency will rely on the generosity of the community for donations. Donors are asked to provide grocery gift cards or a check made payable to Summit County Children Services for the purchase of grocery gift cards, or to provide filled Easter baskets for a child. According to SCCS officials, most needed are baskets for school-aged boys, teenage girls and boys, and stuffed animals/infant care items. For a complete list of suggested items, visit www.summitkids.org. Filled, wrapped baskets should be labeled with the child’s age and gender and delivered March 28-30 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to SCCS, 264. S. Arlington St. For more information, or to make alternative delivery arrangements, contact Sandy DeLuca at 330-379-1994.
