Rape Crisis Center of Medina, Summit Counties

BARBERTON — Walk a Mile in Her Shoes team The Hospital Heroes will host an event tomorrow, April 4, from 8 to 10 p.m. at The Fast Lane Bowling, 193 Wooster Road. The cost is $10 for bowling and shoes, with 50 percent of proceeds benefitting the team. The Hospital Heroes is a specialized, trained team of hospital advocates representing the Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties. The Ninth Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault and Gender Violence will take place April 25 at Lock 3 Park in Downtown Akron.

Family Promise of Summit County

SOUTH AKRON — Family Promise of Summit County will have a 10-Year Anniversary Celebration April 10 at 6 p.m. at its new family center location, 111 East Voris St. All volunteers and supporters of Family Promise of Summit County are invited. The event will celebrate 10 years of service and dedicate the new Family Promise Day Center with guest of honor Karen Olson, president and founder of the Family Promise National Organization. Attendees can learn about the new opportunities the organization is exploring for the coming years to continue serving homeless families. Reservations are due April 8 and can be made by calling 330-253-8081. Dinner costs $15 per person for a buffet-style dinner with options for vegetarians.
