Kyle Stewart Day

CANAL FULTON — Kadilak Fitness in Green hosted a Zumbathon with Coventry High School graduate and Zumba celebrity Jenny Blackburn recently. The event raised over $600 for Kyle Stewart Day. The foundation assists patients and families in the hematology/oncology department at Akron Children’s Hospital dealing with cancer, according to Kadilak Fitness officials. In the past two years, funds from Kyle Stewart Day have helped upgrade the patient and family kitchen, added new toys for the playroom, provided items to help kids feel more comfortable with their stay in the hospital, as well as purchased food and gas cards for families whose children have long hospital stays, according to company officials. Company owner Shelly Kadilak said they plan to continue to raise funds to support these patients and families in honor of Kyle Christopher Stewart, a resident of Canal Fulton who died at age 3 from leukemia, according to the Kyle Stewart Day Facebook page. On July 27 from noon to 6 p.m., this year’s Kyle Stewart Day will take place at Clay’s Park Resort. Tickets are $14 for those age 3 and older. The event will include a cornhole tournament, free food, bounce house, dunk tank, water slides, all access to the swim park, balloon launch, 50/50 and silent auction, raffle, children’s games, DJ Ike from Radio 94.1, a bake sale, lemonade stand, sportswear, balloon animals, prizes and more. Also, Outback Ray will do a live animal show performance at 2 p.m. For more information visit www.facebook.com/KyleStewartDay.
