SPRINGFIELD — The Friday night summer concert series at the Bicentennial Gazebo in Springfield ended with a performance by The Prowlers and Gary Shreve Aug. 28.

The lakeside concert scene by the gazebo, shown at left top, drew crowds to listen to Elvis Presley music.

The event included an Elvis look-a-like contest and drew Dale Miller, of Ellet, to dress as the King of Rock. Miller is pictured at right top with Springfield Police Officer Perry Linaburg.

The free concert was sponsored by the Springfield Township Women’s Club, which is pictured at right bottom posing with Miller dressed as Elvis.

Shreve, who impersonates Elvis in the band, is pictured at left bottom with Yvette Davidson, who is the special events coordinator for the township.

Springfield will present its next community event, Harvest on the Lake, Oct. 10 with the band 45 rpm, children’s activities, including games and inflatables, and food, in conjunction with the annual Springfield Senior Center Flea Market.
