James and Patricia Schrank announce the marriage of their daughter, Katy, to Carter Saiben, son of Gregory and Debra Saiben, both of Bath, on Oct. 3, 2009, at the Schrank Family Farm, which has been in the family for 53 years. The Rev. Mark Frey and Adam Marquette, Carter’s youth minister from The Bath Church, performed the ceremony. Katy and Carter said their vows under an arbor made by the bride’s father.

Katy and Carter graduated from Revere High School in 2008. Katy is in nursing school at The University of Akron, set to graduate in 2012.

Carter is in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Hawaii, and was deployed to Afghanistan this month.

Emily Schrank, Katy’s sister, served as maid of honor. Attendants were Rachel Rich, sister of the bride, Lindsey and Hilary Saiben, sisters of the groom, and Rachel Odd, best friend of the bride.

Sydney and Emerson Padgett were flower girls.

Gary Schrank, brother of the bride and best friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Cpl. Ethan Stoeckel, Lance Cpl. Aaron Byard, Lance Cpl. Rob Smith and Greg Schrank, brother of the bride.

While Carter continues his military career, Katy will stay in Akron. The couple were able to spend a month together in Hawaii during the holidays.
