COVENTRY: A Buttercup Drive man reported June 12 that a handgun and blank checks were stolen from his residence by someone who forged his name on one of the checks and cashed it.

A Norton man reported someone stole items from his vehicle while it was parked in the lot of a grocery store on Manchester Road June 15.

Summit County sheriff’s deputies investigated a report that a man was “cooking methamphetamine” in the basement of a Lake Vista Road residence while the family was away. On June 16, officers arrived at the residence and apprehended a man who fled upon their arrival. Deputies determined there had been drug activity in the basement, and the county drug unit responded and took control of the scene. The Clinton man was arrested for illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal possession and assembly of chemicals and obstructing official business. He was taken to the Summit County Jail.

A North Turkeyfoot Lake Road man reported June 17 that an unknown male showed up at his residence and demanded a refund for purchases he made at the man’s garage sale. When the refund was refused, the male asked him to step outside. When the victim refused to fight, the male left.

An Akron man who was stopped for a traffic violation on South Main Street June 18 was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

A Canal Fulton woman called deputies to a Manchester Road location June 19 to report that an argument with the father of her child turned physical when he struck her. Both parties admitted striking the other. No primary aggressor could be determined, and no charges were filed.

On June 19, an Akron man reported a Dorwil Drive man struck him in the face during an argument at the Dorwil Drive residence. The Coventry man admitted striking the victim, who declined medical treatment, and was charged with assault and released with a court summons.

Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in the yard of a Lemar Street residence June 22, when witnesses reported a Canton woman attacked the father of her child at the residence. The male admitted striking her, and she admitted she punched him. The female was arrested for domestic violence and the male for assault. Both were taken to the Summit County Jail.

A Boat Drive resident reported June 22 that an Olden Avenue man assaulted him while he was in his backyard. The victim declined prosecution and said he was not injured.

An Akron man reported June 23 that a Killian Road resident became combative with two family members at the Killian Road residence and assaulted both victims, who said the suspect punched and shoved them. He was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the Summit County Jail.

The neighbor of a Proehl Avenue resident reported June 24 he saw a 12-year-old male dig a large hole in a neighbor’s yard. Police spoke to the suspect and his parents, who agreed to fill the hole.

GREEN: Someone broke the window of a vehicle outside a South Arlington Road restaurant the evening of June 15 and stole a man’s wallet.

Summit County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Uniontown man for disorderly conduct by intoxication June 16 after employees of an East Turkeyfoot Lake Road bar reported he was yelling at employees who refused to serve him more liquor. He continued yelling, and deputies found him outside the bar behaving in a disruptive manner and arrested him.

Following a random registration check of a vehicle on South Arlington Road June 16, deputies arrested a Clinton man on Wayne County warrants for aggravated trafficking in drugs and took him to the Summit County Jail.

A Daisy Avenue man reported contractors were at his home June 17, and he noticed more than $2,000 in cash missing from his residence after they left.

A woman reported June 18 that a female acquaintance used her phone and refused to give it back. The victim tracked the phone, which the suspect was using to download music, and reported the phone was in a vehicle on South Arlington Road. Deputies stopped the vehicle and recovered the cell phone from the suspect. The Akron woman was charged with theft and possession of methamphetamine and taken to the Summit County Jail. The driver was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released with a court summons.

Security agents at an Arlington Ridge Road department store reported June 19 that two females changed prices on a grill and three cameras and left the store without fully paying for the items. Both Akron women were charged with theft.

On June 21, deputies responded to a report filed by a South Main Street pizza restaurant manager, who said he was concerned about a delivery driver. He said she left to deliver a pizza to an address on West Turkeyfoot Lake Road several hours earlier and had not returned. Deputies issued a bulletin to other police agencies and searched the area for the victim. She was located the following day by Wayne County deputies, who found the 24-year-old woman deceased in her vehicle at a Chippewa Township location.

Suspects damaged the windshield of a vehicle parked in a lot at Akron-Canton Airport June 21.

An Elmhurst Circle woman reported June 21 she received an email from someone claiming to be her son’s landlord asking for money. She wired $758 to the person and later discovered it was not the landlord. Deputies are investigating.

Deputies investigated a report of breaking and entering June 22, when the manager of a Mayfair Road storage facility reported suspects cut locks from two storage units and stole two train sets.

Also June 22, deputies were seeking suspects who broke two front glass windows at Akron-Canton Airport.

Suspects stole a $70 custom-made sign from the end of a driveway on Pickle Road June 23.

A South Main Street resident reported June 23 that suspects scaled a chain-link fence outside the residence and damaged a vehicle by scratching the bumper. The victim said this is an ongoing problem at his residence.

LAKEMORE: On June 15, police responded to a Fourth Street location because men were reportedly intoxicated and fighting. An East Waterloo Road man and an Elm Grove Avenue man were both arrested for disorderly conduct.

NEW FRANKLIN: A West Turkeyfoot Lake Road man reported June 17 that $2,000 worth of golf equipment was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. Police later discovered that a Cuyahoga Falls man was arrested for attempting to sell the equipment to a business in that city.

A West Turkeyfoot Lake Road man reported June 20 that a $150 boat propeller was stolen from his boat motor.

A Broadview Heights woman reported that while her vehicle was at a Manchester Road location June 22, someone broke one of the vehicle’s windows and stole her purse, which contained her driver’s license and a credit card.

An Erie Avenue man was arrested on Manchester Road June 24 for driving under the influence, possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and open container after being stopped for a traffic violation. During an inventory of the vehicle, police found a bag containing some type of vegetable matter, a pipe and a beer bottle.

SPRINGFIELD: A Killian Road man reported June 11 that his $499 trailer was stolen from his backyard.

An Albrecht Avenue resident reported June 14 that a DVD player, checkbook and door jamb, with a total value of $75, was stolen from his locked residence.

A Hillman Road woman was arrested on Krumroy Road June 15 for disorderly conduct due to intoxication.

A South Arlington Road business reported five thefts June 13-15, including: $49.76 in items taken by a West Minor Avenue man; $27 worth of golf balls by a Christensen Avenue man; a $20 video game by a South Arlington Road man; $63 worth of items by a Callis Oval Street woman; and $93 worth of trading cards by a Fifth Street man.

A West First Street man and woman were both charged with theft and child endangerment June 15 after they attempted to flee with their infant in a vehicle after allegedly taking $404 worth of clothing and video games from a South Arlington Road business.

A Glenhaven Avenue woman was arrested for allegedly taking $235 worth of clothes from a South Arlington department store June 15. An Elbon Avenue woman was arrested June 16 at the same store for theft of $144 of merchandise and for reportedly possessing drug instruments. A hypodermic needle and store merchandise were allegedly found in her purse.

A Swartz Road man was arrested June 16 following a traffic stop for possession of drugs and open container. The man admitted to smoking marijuana and gave the cigarette to police, who also found a can of beer inside the vehicle.

A Beechview Drive man was arrested for disorderly conduct June 19 at a Canton Road business after he reportedly was intoxicated and shouting profanities.

A South Hawkins Avenue man and a Sherman Street woman were both arrested June 22 at a South Arlington Road business for disorderly conduct. They reportedly were arguing and punching and chasing each other.
