COVENTRY: Employees of a Manchester Road restaurant called Summit County sheriff’s deputies the evening of Oct. 13 when a female patron created a disturbance. Deputies determined she was highly intoxicated and was wanted on a warrant from the Akron Police Department. The Akron woman was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to Oriana House for detoxification.

A man approached an employee at a Portage Lakes Drive fire station Oct. 19 and stated that if the deputy who had just harassed him got near him again, he would rip her out of her cruiser and show her what being a black belt is all about. He continued making threats regarding the deputy, but he was gone when officers arrived. Deputies signed a warrant for the arrest of the Akron man on charges of aggravated menacing.

On Oct. 23, deputies investigated the theft of a vehicle from a South Arlington Road parking lot. In its place was another vehicle, which deputies determined had been reported stolen from Akron.

Deputies patrolling the parking lot of a Portage Lakes Drive bait shop lot Oct. 24 located an Akron man who was wanted on a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested him. He was additionally charged with possession of three spoons allegedly containing drug residue, and hypodermic needles found during a pat-down search.

A Lockwood Road man reported Oct. 24 someone scratched the hood and side of a vehicle outside his residence, causing extensive damage.

Information regarding a license plate stolen from a vehicle at a Ley Drive auto auction lot Oct. 24 was entered into a national database for stolen vehicles and plates.

Deputies responded to a report that a vehicle had been driven into Long Lake off Cove Boulevard Oct. 25 and recovered a 2001 Ford that was submerged in the lake. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Stark County.

An Akron man stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of South Arlington and Killian roads Oct. 25 was charged with possession of marijuana following a consent search of his vehicle and released with a court summons.

An employee of a Manchester Road residential facility reported two men had an altercation Oct. 26 that resulted in one male causing a facial injury to the other. The victim declined medical attention and only wanted documentation of the incident.

Deputies are seeking the person who entered a Massillon Road apartment the evening of Oct. 26 and stole a flat-screen TV and three laptop computers.

A Dorwil Drive resident reported someone broke a window to enter the residence the evening of Oct. 27 and stole jewelry, a fire pit, vodka and a case of beer.

GREEN: Summit County sheriff’s deputies and county S.W.A.T. officers went to a Kling Street residence Oct. 22, arrested an Akron man on a warrant for drug trafficking and took him to the Summit County Jail.

A South Arlington Road auto dealer reported Oct. 22 that a salesman made unauthorized fuel purchases totaling $385 for his own personal use. The Uniontown man was charged with theft and released with a court summons.

On Oct. 22, deputies investigated the burglary of a Massillon Road residence, which someone had entered during the  day and stolen a DVD player and numerous video games and accessories.

A Mayfair Road woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to the Summit County Jail Oct. 23 after police responded to a disturbance at her apartment and found her highly intoxicated and causing danger to others at the residence.

Deputies investigated two reports of burglary at residences on Massillon Road during the day Oct. 24. Someone had broken a window to enter one residence and stole a gun, game system and laptop computer. Two watches were stolen from the other residence.

An Akron woman was arrested for shoplifting clothing items from an Arlington Ridge Road store Oct. 24.

An unknown person entered a vehicle at a Raber Road location Oct. 26 and stole money and a digital camera.

The next day, deputies investigated a crash on South Arlington Road near the Interstate 77 ramp. A 2004 Saturn traveling south was hit by a 2007 Harley-Davidson going north. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The other driver was not injured. South Arlington Road and the Interstate exit ramp were both closed for several hours.

On Oct. 26, deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call from an East Turkeyfoot Lake Road resident and found she was not in need of assistance. They arrested her on a warrant and released her to Portage County sheriff’s deputies.

A West Turkeyfoot Lake Road grocer reported Oct. 26 a man stuffed merchandise into a duffle bag and left without paying. When he confronted the suspect outside the store, the suspect got into a vehicle and left. Deputies contacted the suspect at his home, and he admitted taking the merchandise, totaling $60. He was charged with theft and released with a court summons.

Deputies investigated a report of a suspicious person at Akron-Canton Airport Oct. 27 and found a Seattle woman had left her luggage scattered around the baggage claim area. She was advised that airport policy required her not to leave her bags unattended. Later, deputies found her at the opposite end of the airport without her luggage. She became uncooperative with officers, who arrested her for obstruction of official business.

A Greensburg Road woman reported her vehicle was stolen from her driveway between 2 and 5 a.m. Oct. 27.

Deputies responded to a disruptive female at a location on South Main Street Oct. 28 after a woman reported she would not release her grandson to her daughter, who was highly intoxicated, and her daughter became irate. Officers arrived to find the suspect screaming and yelling. She refused to calm down and was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to the Summit County Jail.

LAKEMORE: A South Akron juvenile was arrested Oct. 19 for receiving stolen property at a Sanitarium Road school. During a search at the school with his mother present, a stolen $500 laptop was found inside his book bag in his locker.

A Lakemore juvenile was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct after he allegedly brandished a knife and threatened a 14-year-old female at a high school football game Oct. 22. He reportedly told police he reached in his pocket for his cell phone and accidentally pulled out the knife.

On Oct. 25, a rock was used to break the glass of the front door of a Canton Road business and merchandise was stolen.

NEW FRANKLIN: A Reed Street woman was arrested for driving under the influence on Manchester Road Oct. 17 following a traffic violation.

A Messner Road man reported 16 gallons of gasoline were stolen from his vehicle Oct. 24.

Police met with the Tallmadge Police Department Oct. 25 on West Waterloo Road to arrest a man with a warrant out of New Franklin.

A Massillon Road man was arrested for possession of drugs Oct. 27 on Valleycrest Drive. During a search after a traffic offense, an envelope of marijuana was found inside his shoe.

SPRINGFIELD: A 20th Street man reported while he was at an Ewart Road location Oct. 18, checks, darts and a case totaling $75 were stolen from his vehicle.

A Farmdale Road woman reported a video game system and Blu-ray disc player totaling $373 were stolen from her residence Oct. 20.

A Georgia Avenue man and a Cumberland Drive man were both arrested for theft Oct. 21 after reportedly stealing $81 of cosmetics and food from a South Arlington Road discount store.

An Ambre Drive man reported Oct. 22 someone broke windows out of his vehicle, causing $1,000 of damage.

A Rolling Meadows Lane man reported his license plate, valued at $50, was stolen from his motorcycle from his open garage Oct. 23.

Also Oct. 23, a male reportedly entered the office of a Canton Road business and brandished a gun and demanded money. He took money from a purse and from a cash drawer, put two employees in a closet and fled the premises. Police are investigating.

An Eller Road woman reported she was driving on East Waterloo Road Oct. 24 when her car window was shot, causing $250 of damage. Police later found two individuals in the area who admitted to the shooting but did not realize they had hit anything. They were not charged.

A Memell Road man reported that while he was at a Stevenson Avenue location Oct. 24, his debit card was stolen and used to make transactions at a Canton Road gaming facility.

An Ambre Drive man reported a ring and credit card was stolen from his residence Oct. 25 and $10,815 was charged on the credit card.

At a traffic stop on East Waterloo Road at 4 a.m. Oct. 26, police discovered two underage passengers who were both out without their parents’ permission. The Tallmadge juvenile males were arrested for unruly juvenile offenses.
