COVENTRY: On Nov. 19, a North Bender Road man reported an Akron woman and her roommate have been sending him unwanted and harassing text messages. Summit County sheriff’s deputies contacted the parties and advised them to have no contact with the man, who also was advised to have no contact with the females.

Deputies investigated the theft of a canoe from a Port Point Drive property Nov. 21.

A Glencoe Drive man called deputies to his residence Nov. 22 and reported a man damaged his vehicle by running on the hood and jumping on its roof. The victim declined charges, due to special circumstances involving the suspect.

Deputies patrolling Manchester Road Nov. 23 stopped a driver for a traffic violation at Portage Lakes Drive. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested on a theft warrant, issued by the Springfield Police Department, and he was taken to the Summit County Jail.

The night of Nov. 24, deputies responded to an alarm at a location on Portage Lakes Drive and found an occupied vehicle in a closed parking lot. An Akron man in the vehicle was arrested on a warrant and released to the Akron Police Department.

GREEN: A Comet Road man reported Nov. 19 compact discs and an MP3 player were stolen from his unlocked vehicle the previous night.

Also on that day, the owner of a Miller Park business reported an unknown man deliberately crashed a van through a fence and into an area where scrap metal is stored. When the business owner confronted him, the man drove off, leaving the fence damaged.

Summit County sheriff’s deputies were called to the parking lot of an Arlington Ridge Road store Nov. 19, when a woman reported an Akron man attempted to punch her male companion and struck her in the face instead. Following the assault, the suspect and his male companion began beating her friend. Both suspects fled before deputies arrived. An investigation and a review of surveillance video footage showed the assault and helped identify the suspects. Deputies arrested the first suspect at his home and charged him with assaulting the male, the female and her unborn child. A warrant was issued for the arrest of the second man on one count of assault.

Someone broke into a Cottage Grove Road residence between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 20 by damaging a doorframe and then entering to steal three laptop computers.

An East Turkeyfoot Lake Road man reported Nov. 21 a GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked vehicle outside his residence.

Also on that day, a Pickle Road man reported he observed an unknown male standing in his driveway who ran away when he was confronted.

Deputies were called to an East Turkeyfoot Lake Road gas station Nov. 22, when employees reported they observed a man leaving the scene after he punched an electronic menu, causing extensive damage. They provided a description of the suspect and vehicle, and officers were attempting to contact him.

A driver who refused to stop at a DUI checkpoint on Massillon Road Nov. 23 was stopped in a nearby parking lot. Police found a box containing marijuana in plain view on the passenger seat of the vehicle, and the Akron man was arrested for possession of drugs and released with a court summons.

Between Nov. 23 and 25, deputies investigated three reports of theft from vehicles outside residences on Eagle Drive. Money and a cell phone were stolen from two unlocked vehicles, and the door of a third vehicle was damaged to gain entry and steal CDs.

During a tow inventory of a vehicle following a traffic stop on South Main Street Nov. 24, deputies found marijuana and drug paraphernalia and arrested a Canal Fulton man for their possession and released him with a court summons.

A Christman Road woman reported Nov. 24 she heard a loud noise outside the back door of her residence and found an unfamiliar man standing near the door. When he saw her, he fled.

On Nov. 25, a motorist on state Route 619 reported an aggressive driver in a pickup truck was following him. Deputies observed the suspect tailgating the victim’s vehicle and stopped him. He admitted he was driving aggressively and said he did not like foreigners. The Uniontown man was charged with menacing and released with a court summons.

LAKEMORE: A Lakemore juvenile male was charged with unruliness Nov. 15 after his mother reported he is habitually disobedient, uses profanity and skips school.

A South Akron juvenile female was arrested for possession of marijuana Nov. 19 after she was allegedly found with the substance at school. She was referred to a juvenile program and released to her mother, and suspended from school.

On Nov. 21, a Park Drive woman was charged with domestic violence after reportedly punching her mother in the eye during an argument.

Police charged a Wilson Avenue man with obstruction after the man lied about his identity during a traffic stop Nov. 25. The man had an outstanding warrant from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, and he was informed of that.

NEW FRANKLIN: During a routine check Nov. 13, police found an unsecured door at a Manchester Road business, but the interior appeared to be untouched.

Police are investigating a Nov. 16 theft at a Myers Road residence, where $4,654 in items, including pistols and ammunition, was taken.

A West Nimisila male was arrested for unruly juvenile offenses at his home Nov. 19 after he was reportedly verbally abusive to his parents and refused to listen.

A Taplin Avenue man reported $544 in unauthorized purchases using his checking account Nov. 20.

SPRINGFIELD: A Samuel Road woman reported Nov. 9 she recently authorized a $170 payment for computer software updates, and she was later contacted about a refund and asked to set up an account linked to her checking account for it. Withdrawals from her account were made on three separate occasions without her permission, causing a loss of $2,643.

A $500 cell phone was stolen from an Akron woman while she was at a Canton Road gaming establishment Nov. 17.

A Narrows Way woman reported Nov. 20 her identification was used to open up a credit card, resulting in a bill of $1,200.

On Nov. 21, a Clayben Drive woman reported someone stole her pain medication, and she believes her daughter took it because she allegedly has a drug problem.

Also on that day, a Nicholas Street woman reported her boyfriend, of Uniontown, took a wedding ring and when she confronted him, he allegedly admitted he pawned it for $500.

A debit card and prescription medicine were reported stolen from a Howard Lane home Nov 23. The homeowner told police four people were in the house at the time.

A Westview Drive home was broken into Nov. 23. The homeowners are compiling an inventory of items taken.

Police charged a Hobart Avenue man with possession of drugs and paraphernalia after stopping him during an attempted shoplifting incident at a South Arlington Road store Nov. 23. A Winter Parkway man with him was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. On Nov. 25 at the same location, a Dover Avenue man also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia during another attempted shoplifting incident.

Police charged a Wilson Street man with domestic violence Nov. 26 after he allegedly threatened to harm an East Waterloo Road man and kill a Wilson Street woman.
