COVENTRY: An Akron man found walking on Killian Road the night of Dec. 12 was arrested on a warrant and released to the Akron Police Department.

A Surfside Drive man reported Dec. 13 that steel ramps, ladders, an aluminum plank, extension cords and a truck tool box were stolen from an area outside a shed in his yard Dec. 13.

An East Vista Avenue woman reported Dec. 13 a Massillon woman struck her in the face while the two were at her residence. The suspect denied striking the woman. There were no witnesses and no charges were filed, according to the report.

On Dec. 17, Summit County sheriff’s deputies investigated a report of burglary and theft at a North Viona Avenue residence, where a kayak, painting and other items were stolen.

A Manchester Road man reported Dec. 17 an old air conditioning unit was stolen from his residence.

On Dec. 18, a man reported someone broke into his mother’s home on Wigeon Way and stole jewelry.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a Hyacinth Avenue residence Dec. 18, when a mother and son reported they argued but there was no physical confrontation. The male left the residence for the night.

A Massillon Road man reported someone entered an exterior tool box on his locked vehicle outside his residence Dec. 19 and stole tools.

Employees of a Manchester Road grocery store reported Dec. 19 an Akron woman loaded a shopping cart with 15 cases of Red Bull beverages, totaling $187, and pushed it out of the store without paying. She was arrested for theft and released with a court summons. The merchandise was returned to the store.

A Highspire Avenue woman reported Dec. 19 her live-in boyfriend went to her home to retrieve his belongings after he moved out, took furniture and a TV that belonged to her and kicked holes in the walls, damaging a thermostat. The man said the items he took were his, and he made arrangements with the property owner to pay for repairs.

On Dec. 19, a Chaffin Road man reported an unemployment debit card was stolen from his mailbox.

GREEN: Employees of an Arlington Ridge Road discount department store reported Dec. 11 a male wearing a black jacket with “REDS” on the back of it stole two sets of speakers, totaling $500, and a $100 set of ear buds.

On Dec. 11, a Green man reported someone used his name, date of birth and Social Security number to file a federal income tax return and receive a refund.

The owner of a Massillon Road residence reported Dec. 13 he had just purchased the home at a sheriff’s sale and he discovered someone entered the unsecured residence and stole copper pipes.

A Uniontown woman was arrested for theft Dec. 13 after she allegedly concealed merchandise worth $70 and left a Corporate Woods Parkway grocery store without paying for it.

A Corsham Circle man reported Dec. 13 a Rolex watch and diamond earrings were stolen from his luggage on a flight to the Akron-Canton Airport from Florida.

A man reported Dec. 14 he left his disabled vehicle at a Massillon Road gas station and returned to find a temporary license plate had been stolen from it.

Summit County sheriff’s deputies are seeking the person who stole a GPS unit from a vehicle at a Massillon Road location Dec. 15.

A Mayfair Road woman reported an Akron man stole prescription medication while he was at her residence Dec. 16. Deputies contacted the suspect, who admitted taking the medication, and a warrant was signed for his arrest.

Deputies were called to a Cottage Grove Road residence Dec. 17, when a woman reported her live-in boyfriend punched her in the back of the head during an argument. He was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the Summit County Jail.

A post office employee reported Dec. 17 someone forced open six mailboxes in a multiple-box unit on Cardington Road, damaging the unit and locks.

On Dec. 17, deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle outside an Interstate Parkway theater and arrested two Akron men for consuming alcoholic beverages in a vehicle. The driver was additionally charged with carrying a concealed weapon when deputies found a knife within reach of the vehicle operator.

Employees at the Akron-Canton Airport called deputies when two cab drivers were involved in an altercation outside the terminal Dec. 19. Deputies determined they were fighting over a parking space and told them to resolve the matter between themselves and leave the airport for the day.

LAKEMORE: On Dec. 10, a Wildon Avenue woman reported a Lake Road woman took nude photos of herself on her 11-year-old daughter’s cell phone.

A Church Street home was broken into after someone kicked in the front door. A 37-inch Blu-ray player and a video player were stolen.

A Hilda Avenue man reported he arrived home Dec. 17, and shortly afterward, his 32-year-old stepson, of the home, took his vehicle, which contained 72-inch and 32-inch flat screen TVs, a video game system, cords and accessories, a computer tablet, two cans of soda, two packs and five cartons of cigarettes, 18 DVDs, clothing and a duffle bag. Police found him unloading the items with a Roslyn Avenue male friend, but the stepson fled on foot. He was apprehended Dec. 19 and charged with theft, and the Roslyn Avenue man was charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, obstruction and possession of drugs. Both were transported to the Summit County Jail.

A 19-year-old Mohican Boulevard man at Springfield High School was charged with possession of marijuana Dec. 18.

NEW FRANKLIN: A Bender Road man reported Dec. 12 a lockbox and door were damaged at a property he owns on Center Road. The key was taken from the lock box and a garage door window was found open, but nothing appeared to be missing.

While on patrol Dec. 13 on West Turkeyfoot Lake Road, police observed a driver commit a traffic violation and activated patrol car lights for one-half mile before the man stopped on Manchester Road. The Manchester Road man was arrested for driving under the influence, failure to comply with the order of a police officer, possession of drugs and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. Police found beer in the vehicle and marijuana in the man’s pocket.

Police arrested a Winhurst Drive man for operating a motor vehicle while under suspension after stopping the man for a traffic violation Dec. 15 on South Turkeyfoot Lake Road.

A Gibbs Road woman was arrested on Manchester Road Dec. 16 for driving under the influence, with a BAC of .08.

SPRINGFIELD: A Howard Lane man reported Dec. 6 that a Hammel Street man working for a Kent business was laying carpet and asked to use his restroom several times. When he left, he found 62 pills of hydrocodone were missing.

An envelope containing $300 that was hidden in a freezer of a West Park Way home was stolen Dec. 9. The homeowner told police a home health care aide cleaned out her freezer earlier.

Four men were charged with obstruction Dec. 10 after failing to stop when signaled by police. After a chase, police arrested the Coach Lane man, a Wales Road Northeast man, a South Main Street man and a Cliffside Drive man. The Cliffside Drive man was turned over to New Franklin Police Department on a warrant.

On Dec. 13, police were searching for a man described as black, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds. The man allegedly put on a new pair of Nike shoes and left his old ones in the shoebox at a South Arlington Road department store. He then fled to a nearby store and put on a blue hoodie. He was seen wearing black plants, a white hoodie under the blue one, socks and no shoes.

On Dec. 15, police responded to a call about a white male age 25-30, 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing 220 pounds, with brown hair and eyes and dark facial hair, who allegedly had stolen $160 in electronics from a South Arlington Road store. The man fled before police arrived.

During a traffic stop Dec. 16, a Balch Street man was charged with possession of drugs after police noticed an odor of marijuana, and the man admitted possession of a cigarette containing the substance, according to the report.

An Oakes Drive man reported Dec. 17 a Franklin Avenue man keeps calling him and threatening to harm him.

A Hemphill Road man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments after numerous items were found in the parking lot of a Kennedy Road business Dec. 18. He admitted they were his, according to the report.

Police were searching for a 16-year-old female of Springfield who left her home without permission Dec. 19.

A Snyder Avenue Northeast man was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after the vehicle he was in was stopped because the driver was driving under suspension. The man was turned over to New Franklin Police Department on a warrant.
