COVENTRY: A 14-year-old girl was charged with the assault of a 17-year-old female at a residential facility on South Main Street Aug. 15.
A woman reported Aug. 17 her son and his friend placed their cell phones on a sidewalk while they rode their bicycles near Manchester Road, and the phones were stolen.
On Aug. 17 suspects stole a purse containing identification and credit cards from a vehicle in a Cottage Grove Road parking lot. Deputies recovered the purse at the corner of Cottage Grove and Killian roads.
Deputies were investigating an Aug. 17 report filed by a State Mill Road woman who said her credit card was stolen from her purse by suspects who used it to make 32 unauthorized transactions totaling $794.
Suspects stole a license plate from a vehicle in the parking lot of an auto auction facility on Ley Drive Aug. 19.
Deputies investigated a break-in at a Fruit Drive residence Aug. 20, when suspects caused damage in an effort to steal copper pipes.
A male driving a vehicle bearing fictitious license plates fueled his vehicle with gasoline worth $66 and drove away from a South Main Street gas station without paying Aug. 21.
A Pinetop Court woman reported Aug. 21 she noticed a safety deposit box containing money, documents and jewelry was missing from her bedroom.
Deputies were called to a Fig Drive residence Aug. 21 by a woman who said her live-in boyfriend became violent during an argument and threatened her. The victim signed a motion for temporary protection, and the suspect was arrested for domestic violence.
Detectives are investigating the burglary of a Portage Lakes Drive business Aug. 22. Reportedly, suspects removed a latch and pried open a door to gain entry. Numerous tools and equipment were stolen, including 11 saws, a compressor, nail finisher, welder, drill router, pressure washer, sanders, nailers and battery chargers.
On Aug. 24, deputies stopped a driver at a DUI checkpoint on South Arlington Road and noticed an odor of marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was charged with possession of drugs when officers found a marijuana cigarette in the ashtray.

GREEN: A Spade Road man reported Aug. 15 a man at his residence shoved him during an argument and punched him, then left and drove off in a vehicle. Deputies stopped the suspect, who said the victim initiated the physical confrontation. Due to conflicting information, no charges were filed.
Suspects pried open the lock on a shed on Lake Breeze Drive Aug. 19 and stole a gas can containing a gallon of gasoline.
On Aug. 20, deputies responded to a call at a Chenoweth Road motel, where employees reported a male and female were beaten and robbed by two armed males, who also sexually assaulted the female, then fled with a laptop computer, digital camera, credit cards and identification. The victims were transported to hospitals for treatment of head injuries, and the room was processed for evidence.
A South Main Street woman reported Aug. 20 a prowler looked in her window and fled in an unknown direction.
Deputies were called to Akron-Canton Airport Aug. 21 when an employee reported a woman was consuming alcohol in a vehicle in the short-term parking lot. Officers located the woman and charged her with having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. She was released to her husband, who arrived on an incoming flight.
Suspects entered two vehicles outside a Shriver Road residence Aug. 21, ransacked one and stole a stereo from another.
A South Arlington Road car dealer reported Aug. 21 an unknown suspect drove a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica off the lot between 4 p.m. Aug. 16 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 17.
A man reported he left his keys on the bar at a Town Park Boulevard location Aug. 23 and got a ride home with friends. When he returned, the keys were gone, along with his car. Deputies were investigating the theft of the 2007 Chevy Silverado.
Deputies patrolling South Arlington Road Aug. 23 stopped a driver for running a red light. He failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A South Arlington Road man was arrested for domestic violence Aug. 24 after his wife reported he got on top of her during an argument, injured her ear with his elbow and threatened her. The victim declined medical treatment.

LAKEMORE: A Lincoln Street man was charged with domestic violence after allegedly slapping and pushing his girlfriend Aug. 22.
Police charged a Chelsea Drive woman with menacing after she allegedly began yelling and shouting obscenities at a Springfield Lake Drive woman Aug. 22.
A Springfield Lake Drive woman was charged with theft for allegedly stealing soap, body oil and underwear from a Canton Road pharmacy Aug. 22.
A laptop and digital camera were stolen from a Monroe Street residence Aug. 22.
While on patrol, police found numerous trash bins and newspaper boxes at a Canton Road plaza had been overturned Aug. 25.
Cars on Mohican Boulevard and Ithaca Avenue were entered Aug. 25, and CDs, sunglasses, change and a DVD were stolen.
A Plaza Court father and his 15-year-old son were charged with domestic violence after a fight Aug. 25.

NEW FRANKLIN: A Marshallville man was arrested Aug. 19 on State Road for driving while under an insurance violation. The man was allegedly speeding and did not have a driver’s license.
A Manchester Road woman reported Aug. 21 her purse, containing her driver’s license and cash, was stolen from her locked vehicle while its window was rolled down.
A Turkeyfoot Road woman reported Aug. 21 her son’s prescription medication was missing from her home. She told police many juveniles were at her residence Aug. 20.
A Kungle Road man was arrested for driving while under an insurance violation Aug. 22 on Kungle Road.
Police are investigating the theft of a $1,400 laptop computer Aug. 23 from a Rex Lake Drive business.
A Portage Lakes Drive man reported Aug. 23 a $100 paddleboat was stolen from a Boston Avenue location where it was docked.

SPRINGFIELD: Three bottles of medicine were reported stolen from a Beach Drive residence Aug. 15.
A Canton Road resident reported someone shot a BB through his car windshield Aug. 15.
Seven individuals were charged with theft for allegedly stealing from a South Arlington Road discount store, including: two Parma Heights men for taking $15 sunglasses and $148 worth of fishing gear; an Orton Road man for taking a $6 air freshener; a Springdale Road woman for taking $60 in baby clothes; a Miller Avenue woman for taking $50 in items, and two friends, of Minor Avenue and Brown Street, who were charged with complicity; a Safer Plaza woman for taking $112 worth of clothing and also child endangering for having her 2-year-old daughter with her at the time of the theft; and a Bauer Boulevard man, who was charged with robbery by force for allegedly sticking something into a woman’s back, reaching around and stealing her wallet from her purse and then fleeing. The man was caught by two young men and held until police arrived.
A Settler’s Lane resident and a Sherbrook Drive resident reported decorative lighthouse lawn ornaments were damaged, and a Canton Road resident reported a light post was broken off from its brick base Aug. 17.
Someone reportedly entered an East Waterloo Road residence and stole a 19-inch laptop computer Aug. 17.
An Edith Avenue resident reported a lawn mower, chain saw, two lawn chairs and other items, with a total value of $1,665, were stolen from the carport area Aug. 17.
On Aug. 18 at 1:35 a.m., two 17-year-old males, of Westview Road and James Avenue, were charged with breaking curfew after police received a call about someone possibly breaking into a garage and breaking glass. The youths allegedly admitted breaking beer bottles on the street, and one of them told police he was living in the garage.
An Elm Grove Avenue woman reported to police Aug. 18 an 18-year-old Barberton male told her he would kill her and that he had a gun and bombs to blow up her house.
An unknown suspect poured sugar into the gas tank of a car parked on Ewart Road and also threw eggs on it Aug. 19.
Police charged a 14-year-old Lessig Avenue female with child endangering Aug. 19 after she was observed riding an all-terrain vehicle with an almost-2-year-old, who did not have a helmet or shoes on.
Police charged five teens, including two 17-year-old males, of Utica Avenue and Albrecht Avenue; two 18-year-old males, of McCarty Drive and Jordan Lane; and two 18-year-old females, of Farmdale Road and Gibbs Road, for breaking curfew Aug. 20 after finding them at 11:12 p.m. behind a High Grove Boulevard business smoking marijuana. Three of them, including the 17-year-old males and the McCarty Drive male, reportedly admitted to smoking the pot and also were charged with possession of marijuana.
On Aug. 21, a Martin Crest Drive resident reported a cement birdbath with a humming bird was stolen from the yard.
Someone entered a Hillstock Avenue home through an open window and stole a video game system Aug. 21.
A purse containing identification and bankcards was stolen from the trunk of a car parked at a Canton Road water park Aug. 21.
A Georgia Avenue woman reported her boyfriend stole her cell phone and charger while they were at an Albrecht Avenue bar Aug. 22.
Two men, of Merrimach Avenue and Killian Road, were charged with disorderly conduct after they were found to be intoxicated and fighting at an East Waterloo Road bowling alley Aug. 22.
A Monroe Falls Road club owner reported $10,637 worth of lawn equipment and tools were stolen after someone pried open an overhead door Aug. 22.
Three unrelated Phillips Avenue men were caught stealing gutters from a Crestline Drive home Aug. 23. The two 18-year-olds were charged with underage drinking. Police also discovered the driver of the getaway vehicle was driving while under suspension.
