AKRON: On Oct. 1, police issued warrants for the arrest of two individuals wanted in separate incidents. Angelica Stubblefield, 22, is wanted for the robbery of a Romig Road bank Sept. 19. She reportedly entered the bank, presented a note demanding money and fled with an undisclosed amount in a vehicle driven by a male accomplice, who has been arrested. Officers also are seeking Ralph Fry Jr., 52, in connection with the robbery of an Exchange Street bank Sept. 30. Anyone with information about either suspect is asked to call police at (330) 375-2490.
Police investigated a home invasion at a residence on Second Street Southwest Oct. 2 after a resident reported two armed males entered through an unlocked door and attempted to rob two people in the residence. The victims fought back and injured the suspects, who were transported to hospitals for treatment of their injuries and arrested on two counts each of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.
Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Richard Ross Jr., 25, of Lake Street. He is wanted for aggravated burglary, domestic violence and menacing, after his girlfriend reported he attacked her as she walked home with a friend Oct. 3. She ran home and he followed her, entered her home through a bathroom window and attempted to assault her again, then fled before police arrived.
A Hemlock Hills Drive woman was arrested for aggravated menacing and robbery Oct. 4 after the suspect and her female accomplice reportedly robbed a woman of a large sum of money and a laptop computer and threatened to harm her if she called police.
Police arrested a Kent man Oct. 4 for robbery of a Brittain Road cash advance business Sept. 26.
A Kenmore man, who was walking on Diagonal Road Oct. 4 while carrying an open can of beer, was arrested for having an open container of alcohol on a public road and additionally charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse after police found him in possession of a knife, drugs and paraphernalia.
Employees of a Copley Road restaurant reported they were robbed Oct. 4 by a customer who came to pick up an order. The suspect pulled a knife, demanded money and fled with an unknown amount.
On Oct. 5, police stopped a man on Byers Avenue and arrested him for willful fleeing, domestic violence and obstruction of official business. The suspect reportedly punched a victim and stole a cell phone, removing the victim’s pants in the process. The suspect drove past police, who were with the victim, and refused to stop when ordered to do so.
BATH: The manager of a North Cleveland-Massillon Road gas station reported Sept. 25 a male concealed items worth $3 and left without paying for them. Police located the suspect, who admitted taking the items. Theft charges were pending a decision by the business.
Officers assisted Fairlawn police, who reported they were processing a stolen motorcycle on Interstate 77 Oct. 1 when a vehicle with two male occupants nearly struck an officer. [See Fairlawn report for more details.] Bath police stopped the vehicle. The driver failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI. His BAC tested 0.2.
On Oct. 2, officers on Medina Road stopped a driver of a vehicle with an equipment violation. She was arrested for driving under suspension and released to Cuyahoga Falls police on a warrant. She also had outstanding warrants from North Royalton.
Police on Everett Road Oct. 2 stopped a driver, whose license is under suspension, and confiscated license plates from his vehicle on order of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
A Shaw Road man reported he was mowing his lawn Oct. 4 when he found a bicycle, which police took for identification.
Police were called to an Everett Road residence Oct. 4 when neighbors were involved in a dispute over noise issues. Officers arrived to find a male in the driveway. He was younger than 21 and admitted he had been drinking. He was charged with underage drinking and advised that the homeowner does not want him to return to the property.
Around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 5, police stopped a motorist who drove over an island that separates entrance and exit lanes outside a Medina Road grocery store. He was arrested for DUI and released with a summons to appear in court.
COPLEY: Police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Copley and S. Cleveland-Massillon roads Sept. 27 and determined the at-fault driver had left the scene. Witnesses followed the driver until police arrived. The suspect admitted his involvement in the accident. He was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
Around midnight Sept. 28, police were called to the Copley Community Center on Sunset Drive, where a man was reportedly damaging property and attempting to start a fight in the parking lot. The suspect left on foot before officers arrived. Police spoke to witnesses, who identified the male, and they located him in a yard on Karl Drive. He reportedly became combative with officers, who used a Taser to subdue him. He was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal damaging and resisting arrest.
A Copley Road woman reported Sept. 30 her intoxicated brother came to her residence and began breaking items in the home. While officers were driving him to a detoxification center, he began banging his head in the inside of the police vehicle and was taken to St. Thomas Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
Police were called to an apartment complex on Copley Road Oct. 1 when a man reported he was away from his residence and his cousin called him to say the door of his apartment had been kicked in. The victim returned to find suspects had taken numerous items, including two flat-screen TVs, jewelry, clothing, shoes and electronic games.
A Collier Road resident reported Oct. 1 he came home to find the door of his residence standing open and his entertainment system along with 50 DVDs were missing.
On Oct. 3, police patrolling Rothrock Road observed a vehicle leaving the parking lot of a motel and determined the vehicle’s license plates had been reported stolen. Officers stopped the driver, who said he borrowed the vehicle from the owner, whom police located in a motel room. The owner admitted he placed improper plates on the vehicle and he was arrested for receiving stolen property.
FAIRLAWN: On two occasions, Sept. 22 and 30, suspects damaged sound walls and a bridge on Burnsdorph Road by painting graffiti on them.
Suspects stole a wallet from an 87-year-old woman shopping at a Montrose discount store Sept. 27.
On Sept. 27, two brothers from Cleveland were arrested for felony theft and possession of criminal tools after security agents at a Montrose discount store observed them use a box cutter to remove items from packaging and take them. The two are charged with stealing stereo equipment totaling $988. One suspect additionally was charged with drug abuse when police found him in possession of heroin.
Detectives are investigating a Sept. 29 report filed by an Indiana couple who stayed at a West Market Street hotel the night of Sept. 26. The female left her purse in the room while the two went out that night. While she was away, a suspect took her credit card from her purse and used it to make several purchases, including payment of a phone bill.
Police stopped a vehicle with expired license plates on West Market Street Sept. 29 and arrested the driver for possession of marijuana. He was released with a summons to appear in court.
Also that day, suspects stole a wallet from a purse, which the victim placed in a shopping cart at a West Market Street discount drug store while she shopped.
On Sept. 30, a man reported he parked his vehicle outside a department store at 12:45 p.m. and returned a half-hour later to find the catalytic converter had been stolen.
An Akron woman was arrested for shoplifting clothing worth $91 from a West Market Street department store Sept. 30.
On Oct. 1, police investigated a report of a man soliciting money from customers in the parking lot of a Montrose grocery store, and located the suspect in the parking lot of a pet store, where he reportedly lied to police about his identity to avoid being held on an arrest warrant from Ravenna. He was charged with misrepresenting his identity and police notified Portage County of the arrest.
Police are seeking a suspect who stole designer frames from a vision care center on West Market Street Oct. 1.
Officers on Ridgewood Road Oct. 1 checked the registration of a motorcycle and determined it had been reported stolen. Police stopped the driver on Interstate 77, and he reportedly admitted stealing the bike from a garage in Portage County, saying he planned to ride it and return it. He also was wearing the victim’s riding pants and jacket, which he found in the saddlebag. He was arrested for receiving stolen property.
An employee of a West Market Street discount store was arrested on three counts of theft Oct. 1 after she admitted activating gift cards on three occasions and using them to make purchases.
On Oct. 2, a woman reported suspects stole her wallet from a purse in a shopping cart at a West Market Street discount drugstore and used her credit card to make purchases in three locations within minutes of the theft.
NORTON: Suspects stole tools from five trucks outside a Wadsworth Road business Sept. 29. They also entered two sheds behind the business and stole numerous items, which they loaded on a wheeled lawn spreader to transport to another vehicle parked behind the building.
Officers advised a Jane Avenue woman to contact the post office and postal inspector Sept. 29 when she reported a female, with whom she has had an ongoing feud, called the post office and ordered a hold on her mail.
A clerk at a Wadsworth Road gas station reported Sept. 30 two white males, wearing white hats and black jackets, pumped fuel worth $35 into a four-door Chevy Cavalier Sept. 30 and left without paying for it. The suspects also stole fuel on a previous occasion.
An officer standing in the yard of a Wayne Street residence making a report of a damaged mailbox Sept. 30 heard screaming coming from a nearby residence, went to the door and observed a male violently shaking a female inside a residence. Officers entered, escorted the male outside and interviewed the female, who told police the man is her pastor and she did not want charges filed against him.
Police located a driver involved in a rear-end collision with another vehicle on an Interstate 76 exit ramp Sept. 30 and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident.
On Oct. 1, a South Cleveland-Massillon Road woman reported suspects stole a cement statue from her yard the previous night.
Police are seeking suspects who entered a fenced area behind a Wadsworth Road plumbing business Oct. 1 and stole copper worth $1,000. Officers reviewed videotape of three suspects carrying away a 55-gallon drum filled with copper.
RICHFIELD: On two occasions Sept. 20, police were called to a domestic disturbance at an Alger Road residence, where a male reportedly assaulted a woman and a 16-year-old male. On the last occasion, the male was gone, and police located him walking through yards on Broadview Road. He was arrested for domestic violence and taken to Summit County Jail.
A man reported Sept. 22 his vehicle was involved in an accident in Richfield and towed from the scene. When he went to the tow yard to retrieve the license plates, one was missing.
Officers responded to a vehicle accident on Interstate 77 Sept. 22 and arrested the driver for driving under suspension, and released a passenger to Cuyahoga County deputies on a felony warrant.
On Sept. 22, officers were called to a Brecksville Road restaurant where a male was attempting to cash a check for a female whose checks had been returned for insufficient funds. Police arrested both suspects on outstanding warrants. The female was released to Summit County deputies and the male was taken to Fairlawn.
An employee of a Brecksville Road travel center reported Sept. 25 three females with two small children were soliciting customers for money at the gas pumps. The suspects denied soliciting, but witnesses reported the suspects solicited them. Officers determined the three had been stopped by state police, who said they were suspected of soliciting at a turnpike rest area within the past two weeks. Officers told the suspects to leave and said they would be arrested for criminal trespassing if they returned.
Following a bulletin from Independence police Sept. 25, officers on I-77 stopped a driver of a vehicle suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run accident and transported him to Cleveland.
Police responded to a call Sept. 26 from a man who said he was holding a suspect at knifepoint after the man attempted to assault him in his room at a Brecksville Road motel. Officers interviewed the victim, who said the suspect, who is a co-worker at a nearby trucking company, said he would pay the victim $8 to use his shower. When the hot water ran out, the suspect attacked him, asking for his money back. The suspect told police there was no hot water and he wanted his money back. Both parties declined charges. The suspect received a refund, and police advised him not to return.
Detectives are investigating a report filed Sept. 29 by the owner of a Brecksville Road trucking company stating a trailer involved in a vehicle accident in Richfield in July was towed from the scene and has been missing since that date.
