COVENTRY: Deputies were called to a Portage Lakes Drive bar Aug. 24 when a Canton woman reported a man jumped on the hood of her car and smashed the windshield. She said she was unaware of the reason for his actions, but she feared him, so she drove away in the damaged vehicle. The victim sustained lacerations from the broken glass, but she declined medical attention. The male was arrested for aggravated menacing and criminal damaging and taken to Summit County Jail.
A Ley Drive business owner reported Aug. 25 suspects stole diesel fuel from heavy equipment on his property.
Deputies investigated a burglary and criminal damaging complaint at a Mallard Point Drive residence Aug. 25, when suspects used a pass code to open the door of an attached garage, damaged a door to enter the home and stole electronic games.
Suspects broke into a South Arlington Road residence Aug. 25 and stole $100 and six vials of prescription medication and controlled substances.
On Aug. 26, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a South Arlington Road residence where a man reported a woman threw a brick through the windshield of his vehicle during an argument. The woman was charged with criminal damaging and released with a summons to appear in court.
Security agents at a Manchester Road grocery store apprehended a male and female who were pushing a grocery cart filled with items out of the store without paying for them Aug. 27. Deputies charged the two with theft and additionally charged the male with criminal trespassing, since he had been banned from the store due to a previous incident.
A North Prior Road man reported Aug. 28 an unknown suspect used his identity to forge and cash a check sent to him by the Internal Revenue Service.
Suspects entered a vehicle outside a Portage Lakes Drive bar Aug. 29 and stole music CDs, identification, a gift card, mail and a Frisbee.
On Aug. 29, an employee of a South Main Street bar reported an intoxicated man entered the bar and began challenging people to fight him. The suspect admitted he was drunk and attempting to instigate a fight. He was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and taken to Summit County Jail.
A South Main Street man reported a woman at his residence threw a glass at him during an argument Aug. 29 and struck him in the head, causing a laceration. Coventry EMS treated the victim, and the suspect was arrested for domestic violence and taken to Summit County Jail. She had two prior convictions for the same crime.
Deputies patrolling South Main Street during the early hours of Aug. 31 found front doors on two businesses were damaged. The door to a barbershop was cracked and the door to a restaurant was smashed and the cash register was open.

GREEN: A woman reported a catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle in the parking lot of a Massillon Road shopping center between 8 a.m. and noon Aug. 22.
An employee at Akron-Canton Airport notified deputies of a suspicious item in a checked bag Aug. 22. Officers searched the bag and found no dangerous items.
Suspects stole a $1,500 laptop computer from a room at Green High School Aug. 25.
A telecommunication business employee reported Aug. 26 suspects entered his work vehicle at a South Main Street location and stole items belonging to him and his employer. They included two digital video recorders, a high-definition TV receiver, remote controls, a satellite antenna and ladder.
A North Tamarack Road woman said a representative from her bank notified her of suspicious charges to her credit card Aug. 26. The victim determined her card had been stolen and the unauthorized charges totaled $1,890.
Deputies are investigating the theft of a yellow 2008 Jeep Wrangler, which was stolen from the parking lot of a South Arlington Road restaurant. The victim said he parked the vehicle Aug. 27 and left it unlocked for an hour. He returned to find it was gone.
An employee of Akron-Canton Airport called deputies Aug. 29 when he suspected a California woman was in possession of contraband. Deputies determined she had a marijuana cigarette, charged her with possession of drugs and released her with a summons to appear in Barberton Court.
Suspects entered an unlocked vehicle parked at a South Arlington Road location Aug. 29 with the keys left in the ignition and stole $20.
On Aug. 29, police were called to an East Nimisila Road residence, where a woman reported her live-in boyfriend grabbed her by the hair during an argument, squeezed her head and poked his finger into her eye. Deputies observed an injury to the victim’s eye, which the suspect admitted causing. The victim declined medical treatment, and the suspect was arrested for domestic violence and taken to Summit County Jail.
Suspects stole a $319 air compressor from a South Arlington Road hotel Aug. 29.
A Canton man stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 77 Aug. 30 was arrested for possession of drugs after he admitted having marijuana in his possession.
A Cottage Grove Road man was arrested for domestic violence Aug. 31 after his live-in girlfriend reported he grabbed her arms during an argument and slammed her into a wall. The victim declined medical treatment and signed a motion for a temporary protection order.
LAKEMORE: An employee of a Canton Road plaza department store reported an unknown woman used old company bags to shoplift merchandise Aug. 26.
A Valley Drive woman was charged with DUI during a traffic stop at Sanitarium and Canton roads Aug. 27.
Police charged a Lake Street man with DUI after stopping him for a traffic violation at Pawnee Boulevard and Roanoke Avenue Aug. 30.
Five male youths, ages 12-14, from Abington Road, Bennington Court, Castleton Road and Sieber Avenue were charged with unruliness after being caught out after curfew at 2:40 a.m. in a Brittany Boulevard backyard Sept. 1.
On Sept. 2, a Troyer Avenue female was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when police found pipes in her car during a traffic stop at Sunnyside Avenue and Church Street.

NEW FRANKLIN: A Clinton man was arrested for failure to comply with the signal or order of a police officer on Center Road Aug. 24. Police chased the man’s vehicle with lights and sirens on, but he eluded them. Later that day, the man was arrested at his residence.
An Akron man reported Aug. 25 his vehicle was stolen while it was stored at a Cherry Lane location. Three laptop computers, a boat motor, trailer hitch and scuba gear were inside the vehicle.
A South Main Street man reported Aug. 26 he found a knife and pair of pantyhose in his front yard.
A North Canton man reported Aug. 27 all four tires on his vehicle were slashed while it was parked at a West Turkeyfoot Lake Road location.
A Mustang Drive woman reported her vehicle was stolen Aug. 27. Police discovered the next day the vehicle had been repossessed for nonpayment.
On Aug. 28, a Myers Road woman reported her mailbox was damaged.
Police are investigating the theft of $160 from a cash register at a Manchester Road business Aug. 30. A glass door was broken to enter the building.
A Manchester Road woman reported Aug. 30 a window screen was removed from her residence, but nothing appeared to be missing.
An Akron man was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol on State Road Aug. 31. Police were dispatched for a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light with the motor running and found the man sleeping at the wheel. The man admitted to drinking beer earlier.
A Lullaby Lane man reported Aug. 31 an unknown number of coins were taken from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.
A Valley Crest Drive woman reported she found a bicycle on her property Sept. 1. The bicycle was logged into the department’s property system.

SPRINGFIELD: A Moga-dore woman reported her purse containing medications was stolen from her unlocked car while it was parked at an East Waterloo Road grocery store Aug. 23.
Two windows of a Hillside Memorial Park business were broken out Aug. 23.
Police charged a Meadow Spring Circle man with domestic violence for reportedly grabbing his wife’s face, ripping her earring out and hitting her in the mouth with his wallet Aug. 23. The man was allegedly angry with his wife for spending money on school clothes for two teens.
Also on Aug. 23, gas totaling $126 in value was siphoned from two vehicles parked at an Albrecht Avenue business.
An unknown suspect stole $450 in cash after breaking a window to a Taylor Avenue residence Aug. 24.
A $1,500 golf cart was reported stolen from a Fritsch Avenue residence Aug. 24.
Springfield police are investigating the placement of a sign with offensive words that was hung outside the police department Aug. 24.
A Canton Road woman reported someone threw a brick with a note attached that read, “wait and see what happens next,” through her window Aug. 24.
On Aug. 25, a Lake Road man was charged with assault after stopping at Killian and South Arlington roads during a road rage incident and punching a Valley Drive man in the face after exchanging words with him.
A Mohawk Trail woman reported two children’s pools were punctured Aug. 25.
A bicycle was reported stolen from an Albrecht Avenue home Aug. 25.
A Lake Road youth was charged with theft after allegedly trying to steal a $10 video game from an East Waterloo Road grocery store Aug. 25.
Music CDs, an iPod, cologne and a cell phone charger were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Roanoke Avenue location Aug. 25.
A Jordan Avenue female was charged with theft after allegedly trying to steal $97 in jewelry from a South Arlington Road department store Aug. 25.
The window on a rear door of a Laverne Lane residence was broken out Aug. 26.
Two ladders were reported stolen from a Neal Road residence Aug. 27.
Police are investigating an Aug. 27 report filed by an East Waterloo Road chicken restaurant manager who reported a Rothrock Road female employee has stolen a total of $1,040 from the cash register.
A Hancock Avenue woman reported her purse, containing her identification, bank cards and the title to her vehicle, was stolen from the cart while she was shopping at a South Arlington Road store Aug. 27.
Also on that day, a 49th Street N.W. man reported someone at an Edith Avenue residence used his identification to charge $671 in gas.
Several individuals were charged with theft after allegedly stealing from a South Arlington Road discount store Aug. 27-30, including: an Onodago Trail female for taking $30 in jewelry; a Thornton Street female for taking $51 in jewelry; a Stoner Street woman for taking $106 in clothing; an Ambre Drive man for taking $12 in fishing lures; two Lafolett Street females for taking $51 and $65 in jewelry; and a Canadian Avenue woman for taking $28 in items. She also was charged with child endangering for having a 3-year-old child with her at the time.
Eight windows were broken at a Delaware Avenue business Aug. 29.
A Stow female was charged with unruliness when she was found Aug. 30 at 2:27 a.m. at an East Waterloo Road and South Oakwood Drive location. She allegedly admitted to police she was drinking beer.
Police charged a Sherman Street man with disorderly conduct after they found him intoxicated and urinating in the street on Farmdale Road Aug. 30.
Speakers and a portable TV/DVD/CD player were reportedly stolen from a vehicle parked at a Griffith Avenue location Aug. 31.
An East Waterloo Road man reported his van was taken without permission Sept. 2. The van was reportedly involved in a hit-skip accident in Akron and was found at a Woodland Road location.
