Stand Down organization thanks participants for successful event

The Summit County Veterans Council and Summit County Stand Down for Homeless/Displaced Veterans Committee would both like to thank everyone that made a successful Stand Down Sept. 11, 2012, as we served 428 veterans.
Seventeen veterans organizations participated: VFW; American Legion; American Legion Riders; AMVETS; Army Navy Garrison; DAV; Jewish War Veterans; Korean War Veterans; Marine Corps League; MOAA/OWRC; Northcoast WAVES; Women Marines Association; Ohio Veterans Services Women Committee; Purple Heart Association; Vietnam Veterans of America; Summit County Veterans Council; Rolling Thunder: VFW Auxiliaries; American Legion Auxiliaries; Veterans Affairs; Veterans Service Commission; METRO RTA; Daughters of the American Revolution; barber shop and hair stylists; LensCrafters; Valor Home; chaplains; Deyarmin Foundation; city of Akron; County of Summit; County Community Social Services; Gideons; Healing Touch; Gavin-Scot Salon; Coventry High School; Garfield High School Junior ROTC; Kenmore High School Junior ROTC; Stark State Student Nurses Association; University of Akron College of Nursing; Chesty Puller Young Marines; and all of our behind the scenes area companies and volunteers that made the Stand Down happen.
